Is GGG the real deal who will continue to rise to the top?
Is GGG the real deal?

I think he makes good not special but good fighters look really bad and its going to take a special talent to test him.
Personally I think he is the goods. -
I think people struggle to see the complexity in his approach in the ring, like changing the arch of his punches, picking off the jab, controlling his opponent's head, being able to push off up close to create room. That rangy counter right uppercut is almost impossible to see if your shooting an orthodox jab against him, your own jab is blocking your line of vision. Fuckin' love that punch.
I say he is.
At the moment I'm just curious to see how he reacts to someone who will force him to fight off the back foot when he doesn't want to. I think only Ward can answer that.Last edited by Doctor_Tenma; 02-19-2015, 01:48 AM.Comment

Yes, he's the real deal. I wanna see him move up to 168, and beat Ward. If he does that, he's P4P #1 without question.Comment

there is no one in 160 he can fight to prove anything.
168, theres a few names.
but even if he beats those names, there will be plenty of excuses.
chavez jr - hype job
carl froch - 38 yrs old
andre ward - just came outa big lay off.
blah blah blah.
it's a ****ty era for golovkin to exist in.Comment

Hopefully we get to see him in the ring with Lara or Ward soon. Getting a little bored of watching him beat on a bunch of jittery euro fighters and whatever Rubio was.Last edited by dranoel; 02-19-2015, 02:17 AM.Comment

I really think he is the real deal but can see why some people aren't ready to think of him like that because of his opponents thus far. Hopefully some real competition gets in the ring with him in the next few fights so we can get a better assesment of just how great he really is.Comment

He certainly brings something special to the ring, but I don't see him being tested anytime soon. He is a big threat to anyone, but with little marketablility value at the moment.
People have invested too much money in fighters to risk challenging him.
I think he handles Cotto within seven rounds at this point, which could be the platform he needs, but the top earners are protecting their interests at this stage of their careers.Comment

That would be good marketing, to do to Lara what Canelo couldn't, also a very good clash of styles.
At this point I genuinely feel Ward is the only fighter who can truly test him but I want Golovkin to develop into a SMW before taking that fight.Comment
