    But who else at 168?
Everyone knows that GGG is a huge fight now that brings big money but chavez backed out, froch seems to have no interest, groves speaks in awe of GGG's power, top rank won't let ramirez near him yet and the other guys who really aren't that good anyway are with Haymon.

nope.... hagler didn't even get a shot at any middleweight belt at that time until like his 50th fight. not the same set of circumstances... also add to that there are more weight classes now than before.

This. Defending the lineal MW title against Brandon Rios or Tim Bradley would be one of the biggest jokes in boxing history and that's saying a lot. And its very well a possibility that Bradley wins the fight and becomes lineal MW champion without ever even fighting a real MW.

But he cleaned out his division before getting this initial shot thus there was no dis*****g he was the next in line for the middleweight reign.

And, more weight divisions does not constitute not fighting the best in your own division win or lose.

Cotto's legacy is intact. We all know he's not a real middleweight, so I doubt anyone will hold the lack of a Golovkin fight against him. He needs to give up the 160 title though, just like Mayweather needs to do at 154.

Lol he juat compared Cotto fighting GGG to Duran fighting Hagler. That fight was big, they both got paid and they were both very popular all around. GGG is not as big as Hagler was at the time. And don't worry about Cotto's legacy you old fool, he's the first PR fighter to win titles in 4 weight classes and is 20lbs north of his debut. Worry about your fighters legacy, the gutless GGG fighting in one of the safest, weakest current divisions in boxing.
