For the first time in a long while I agree with Roach. This later version of Mayweather only wants to do enough to win. It almost cost him against
Canelo, and sure if it happens again, it will cost him against Manny. I have to admit, I hate the way Mayweather fights during the second half of his career. I always feel after watching his fights that he could have given more.

To be fair, also, this could be attributed to him aging and facing diminished abilities. Who knows? All am saying if you can give more you should.

smart money says this fight will be close ... it will go down to the wire and be a tight decision one way or the other ... I can see why roach is latching onto this aspect of mayweathers recent game. In a close fight the guy coming forward making the fight could get the nod. He's trying to get into floyd's head ... make him think he has to come forward and duke it out.

Make this very simple for both fan bases. The greatest defensive/counter fighter of this era versus the greatest offensive fighter of our era is fighting. Let's just be happy and who ever A game is better May 2nd will win.

I would rather have all of my faculties, stay undefeated, and make an insane amount of money than get knocked out just to entertain the fans!

Those same fans wanting to see blood and guts every time are the same ones who will call for your retirement once you lose a couple of fights trying to "entertain" them. Then they'll move onto the next action fighter and forget all about you.
Wouldn't it be great if all champs were like Floyd and had Haymons guidance!! ....................oh wait then everyone would be cherry pickers and we probably would only see a few watered down fights a year.

II disagree with the fans that say itll be "easy work" for Floyd & he'll pot shot Pac all night. Pac can close the distance pretty fast with his footwork, so floyd shootin from range can be countered by a quick Pac combo. Floyd will fight on the edge of the pocket and work his way inside, where he has the advantage and stay off the ropes. That shoulder roll might be ineffective against Pac so Floyd will use the high guard on the inside, clinch. Pacs gonna have to work off his jab and use feints to get Floyd to counter and open up, this is what Pacs gonna have to capitalize on and it can very well be his bread and butter for the night. I think itll ne a great match. I acknowledge Floyds craft but im pulling for Pac in this one and am very well intrigued by his gameplan.

Certainly shouldn't pull what he did in Maidana 2. I understand he had the platform to prove to everyone he still had his legs or whatever, because people doubted he still had them. Well yea it's a given he still has his legs after what we saw last September, but I'd expect him to do more in the biggest fight ever with Manny. Not just snap a couple of punches to the fore head, run, reset, run, reset..........

The simple fact is, if Floyd pulls the safety first strategy and runs all night, not really throwing that many punches, then he will just not gain the respect of what he could of achieved. If he gives it his all and tries to win in grand form, like Pac will try to do, then maybe the boxing world will respect Floyd for once.

But you have to remember Floyd is also a great promoter. It's his job to sell the fight. He knows his opponents can't beat him but he is going to talk up the opponent in order to give hope to those who are buying the PPV to see him lose

Put it in the minds of the opponent and opposing fans that they have a chance, when in reality they don't.
