Whats wrong with that? Why would someone want to get hit? If you have the ability to share a ring with a fighter for 12 rounds and not get hit, You have supreme defensive boxing ability and movement skill.
Those who have to brawl and trade punches. And leave the ring defeated battered and bloody just don't have the skill to avoid taking punishment in the ring.

Damn is this thread a mayweather circle jerk? You guys are literally picking and choosing what roach said, and taking it out of context. Roach is basically saying that they need an 8 week training camp for the biggest fight of the last 30 years, but they may be able to make due with a shorter training camp. As for some of you guys saying that roach is just covering for Manny,in case he gets knocked out by mayweather, what are you guys smoking? He's saying that by taking risks in a fight, and making it more exciting, you run the risk of getting caught, and getting ko'ed. Just like when you're driving,if you drive faster, there's always the risk that you'll crash. But does that mean that Floyd will KO Manny? Hells no,the last opponent that Floyd ko'ed was years ago,and he literally had to have his hands down, and it took Floyd 2 punches to sit him down. Its funny,on this forum, boxers like rigo and Lara get **** on daily, and are labeled runners because they apply the sweet science. But when it comes to boxers like Floyd and ward, who clinch and elbow, more than box itself, you guys get your panties all wet. How will the fight play out? Floyd going to try to pot shot manny, trying to steal rounds at the end,but it just won't fly, because Pacquiao is going to outwork him,and outland him every round. Floyd can't get away with landing 2-3 punches per round and calling it a night, because this time,he won't be in there with some c ranked fighter. He's in there with the 2nd best in the world, and if the judges had to choose between Manny's aggressive fan friendly style, and Floyds boring safety first style,I'm willing to bet anything that they'll go with Manny. Alright Floyd fans, bring the hate.

Lol floyd fans are crazy lol
If manny did just enough to "win" I wouldn't be his fan. I'm not a boxing fan for the financial end of the boxer or how many times he doesn't get hit or hit record, I'm a fan for the entertainment and for the output they give. If a fighter puts out 100% effort in a fight but loses, I'm his fan
If a fighter barely does enough to win on points and doesn't even try to wow me or finish off his opponent, fugg him and his sorry ass plan...

He has been applying that principle 5 yrs. on.
As far as I know he "purposely" stays on the rope/pocket in his first fight against Maidana even though he had supreme defensive boxing ability and movement skill - he never got hit in that fight anyways so you are right.
