Comments Thread For: Hammer Getting Help From Ustinov For Tyson Fury

Hamburg-based Romanian heavyweight Christian Hammer, who takes on Tyson Fury on February 28 in London, is sparring with Alexander Ustinov, who is just as tall as Fury. Ustinov was also sparring with Dereck Chisora when prepared for the rematch against Fury last summer and was - for a day or two even - scheduled as opponent for Fury after Chisora pulled out with an injury. And then it was Fury who pulled out and Ustinov was left without a fight.

it can only help Hammer by getting the work in with a tall HW. Can Ustinov box in the southpaw stance though? Hammer is one of the most improved HWs the last few years but I don't think it matters who he spars with because you don't know what fury will do fight night. orthodox, southpaw or possible mixing it up through out the fight... That is the biggest advantage fury has fighting anyone. just ask martin rogan & chisora...

yeah fury can swithch to southpaw but is he realy that good like that, I give hammer a chance of a ko, he has the over hand right he needs to make fury get sloppy and switch off to land it.
