We'll have to see if it forces consistently compelling fights.Comment

Those fighters can still fight on the GBP shows on Fox SPorts 1. HBO isn't prevented from creating a show like SHoBox on its second tier networks. Yes, as hardcore fans we lose 2 hours of fights on Fri night, but there are other avenues opening up.
HBO needs to expand and innovate Natas, you of all people should see this.Comment

If nothing else it should force HBO to make much better fights. If all HBO does is return WCB and BAD to what they used to be when they started then I'm more than happy.
Also, as I said to Natas, HBO has multiple tiers. They can do a shobox type show easy. AL is forcing HBO to invest and innovate. That can't be bad for us as fans.Comment

Golden Boy is for Golden Boy.
When was I talking about HBO?HBO needs to expand and innovate Natas, you of all people should see this.
Obviously I was only speaking about the topic at hand, Friday Night Fights. Boxing once a month on ESPN isn't cool any way you slice it. Again, many a fighter with no big promotional backing/management made a name for himself on FNF's which opened doors for that fighter. This will now be gone and now limited to Haymon only fighters.Comment

The point is Haymon doing this doesn't prevent other outlets from expanding programming and innovating to give the types of boxers you are talking about opportunities.Golden Boy is for Golden Boy.
