Comments Thread For: Al Haymon's PBC on ESPN2, New Details Emerging

Rumors are rampant that ESPN2, like several other networks, will be doing time-buys for their boxing programming and now details are emerging on how this will be executed.

BoxingScene.com first reported the situation on February 5th, regarding Al Haymon's negotiations to bring 'Premier Boxing Champions' to ESPN. Last month, Haymon's company, Haymon Boxing, announced long-term deals with NBC and Spike TV. The debut edition of the PBC series will take place on March 7th on NBC from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, with a showdown between Robert Guerrero and Keith Thurman in the main event. PBC dates have been announced for April 11 on NBC and March 13 on Spike TV.

I'd rather see weekly fights with lesser known fighters and prospects than a once a month show with supposed "higher quality cards".

Thats too bad, Friday Night Fights have been a staple in my household for over 16 years. Once a month is wack. And can we be really assured that pbc fights are going to be high quality? or more of the same old sh.it non competive fights ****** boy likes putting on?

I know I'll get hate for this post but I'm going to say it anyway.

If MMA didn't completely take off with the casual fight fanbase on these secondary sports channels, I don't see how boxing can do any better. I truly don't.
