    With the official confirmation of the fight between Danny García (29-0, 17 KOs) and Lamont Peterson (33-2-1, 17 KOs) made last week, attention turned to the fact that no championship belts will be in play and the bout will reportedly take place at a catchweight of 143lbs. Some fans have taken to boxing forums to express their opinion that the Philadelphian should be stripped of his belts given that by fight night it will have been more than a year since he defended his WBA Super and WBC titles at junior welterweight.

          I think Garcia would move to 147lbs next if he's struggling to make 140lbs. I don't like the way boxers trying to stay within the lowest weight class possible for as long as they can. I hope Garcia wasn't trying to avoid the 147lbs division the whole time...

                                  These guys make me sick. What they are doing is allowing for a "special event" in which they will charge their usual sanctioning fee for a title fight despite not being a title fight. That way they still get their money, Danny and Peterson still get to keep their belts. Pathetic.
