The guy can't make weight anymore, but he gets to keep his belts and possibly even unify. Do the sanctioning bodies of this sport know how ridiculous they look. Imagine if the MLB alloyed the Cubs to buy their way into the World Series. At some point, somebody from either the WBC, WBA, or IBF needs to grow a pair and stop acting like cheap hookers.Comment

****** fugging kunts. Danny is just a cheat, who knows he has been incredibly lucky.
Idiot Khan gave him his career. Khan shoulda stayed on the outside and easily boxed his way to victory. These belt organisations should have all their members killed.Comment

Haymon is trying to control as many belts as possible, which is why this fight is 10 rounds, and a catch-weight
Lets say it were a title fight, 12 rounder at 140lbs, and lets say Peterson somehow wins the fight. No big deal, Haymon owns Peterson and thus stil retains all the 140lb belts sans the WBO
Now, lets say Garcia wins. Well ****, he's moving up to 147 after the fight (according to rumors) and so he'd be vacating all 3 (plus RING) titles, which would relinquish all of Haymon's control over those titles
At least keeping it this way, Haymon still retains the IBF strap. Most likely he'll still be losing the belts Danny vacates.
It will be interesting to see which fighters snag up those vacant belts. My prediction is Danny vacates his titles after the fight with Lamont, Lucas/Provo winner vs Postol purse bid for the vacant WBC title, Mikey Garcia vs Algieri for vacant WBO title, and who gives a **** about the WBA, it's a joke.Last edited by joesaiditstrue; 02-16-2015, 05:15 AM.Comment

This isn't even a thing about Garcia for me, it's about the complete lack of fairness with these horrible sanctioning organizations. Danny Garcia can go a year without defending either title and lose neither of them, while Chris Algieri gets stripped two months after winning his. If they were consistent with their exceptions, I wouldn't care, but they're not. The sanctioning organizations do everything they can to keep their belts with the fighters who don't need them and won't let the fighters who benefit from a belt keep them.Comment
