Comments Thread For: Juan Manuel Marquez Resumes Training, Tests Out Knee

Former four division world champion Juan Manuel Marquez (56-7-1, 40KOs) is back in the gym in Mexico and training under the watchful eye of Ignacio "Nacho" Beristáin in the Romanza gym. Marquez, 41-years-old, is testing out his injured right knee, which kept him for most of 2014. Marquez has been inactive since last May's twelve round victory over Mike Alvarado in Los Angeles.

Hope he hangs them up. He did enough in the sport and gave us all some quality fights and a fierce rivalry against one of the greatest boxers of his era. With that said I don't think he can beat any Welterweight champion right now, sadly.

Nothing a hot cup of piss can't fix. If it's still not working a shot of Memo undetected peds will get it to work as new.

One last big win. For Mexico and for the pac-tards.

That fight against Alvarado was a great watch. Marquez is one of the greats of this era but technical guys will always be a problem for him. Bradely and Mayweather showed this. Brook would be a style nightmare for him and Cotto is too big physically and has some boxing skill. Unless he fights Pacquiao for a 5th time of waits till a guy like Rios gets a title at WW, I don't see him getting 5th title. Garcia/Marquez or Maidana would be a good fight but the WW title ain't there.

JMM doesn't want it, he wants to keep his feel good feeling and the warm fuzzies.
