700K can buy a boatload of real estate in the nevada area. he can pay people to tell him where to buy, go through the buying and management processes for him, and it won't cost him 700K to do it.

floyd mayweather is monumentally ****** with money, and will be broke in 10 years.
Last year, an espn reporter on Grantland wrote about seeing Floyd's bank receipt and his account balance being well over $100 million. While I think it's crazy to have that in a bank account instead of investing, the interest from 1 month likely pays for this ***elry.

The ********, cars, and wasteful spending is surely an issue. But are you sure he's going to go broke without knowing what he may have saved?

He already went into millions of dollars in tax debt when he retired the first time, it's not really a stretch to think it will happen again when he's too old to return.

if that trip to teh ***elry store was the only expensive thing he did this year, you're right.

he's monumentally ****** with money, and has been in trouble with the IRS in the past. he's probably going to end up broke, dunbro.

that's not even close to true...

precious metals and ***elry aren't the same thing. you don't buy $1000 worth of gold when you buy a $1000 gold chain. you pay for retail markup, etc.

you walk out the door, and that ***elry is worth less than you paid for it. a lot less.

floyd's literally better off putting his money in a mattress.

true, but he was earning far less than. If the Grantland reporter was accurate that means Floyd spent roughly 1/200th of his net worth, which I'm pretty sure is well within the boundaries any sound investment manager would allow for disposable income.

Besides, it's February. On May 2nd he's expected to earn, somewhere between $32 mil and possibly as much as $120 mil, before taxes. He's not an NBA or NFL player making $3 mil a year.

Of course he spends in a way a normal adult wouldn't. I get that everytime he's in the news it's some ridiculous spending or some huge ******** loss. I just don't see him going broke. Bankrupt, sure. But that's a whole lot different than broke.

Saying ***elry is as good as money is like saying designer clothes are as good as money because you can resell the cotton. Problem is you paid $800 for $4 worth of material.

Back on topic, maybe Floyd is motivated by his ridiculous spending habits. Going bankrupt is what ended his "retirement", maybe it keeps him going. It's just going to be very sad seeing him living in his former bodyguard's garage when he's 50.
