  • Like I've said in every Froch thread lately, Carl Froch has fought damn close to everyone at 168 over the past 7 freaking years, and the only fighters he didn't fight are guys that absolutely no one wanted to see.

He 100% deserves to be picky about his last fight or two. That's the right a career spent giving the fans what they want earns for a fighter.

I don't know how much B-Hop is worth, but imo he's still fighting at 50 because of money, he talks about money a lot.

I'm good with either fight (JCC/BHop), personally I would prefer to see him fight Anthony Dirrell next for the WBC but I just want to see Froch back in the ring because a year out of the game is a long time at 37.

      • The Hopkins fight could end up happening. Hearn wants it more than Froch clearly and he'll try to talk him into it. It should be a last resort option.

Fact is that Froch made 9 or 10 times what Hopkins did in his last fight. Hopkins knows that Froch is the A-side and is the one with the fanbase. You seem to be the only one that doesn't want to acknowledge that. Hopkins is a name, he doesn't have much of a fanbase.
I may be going out on limb here but my guess is that Bhop has an ego the size of his hometown of Philly. And because of that just maybe he doesn't want to end his career with a major lose. So, what does he do?

He looks at fighters that may be available and thinks that Froch has a belt and he is older and past his prime and not all that skilled. It would also give him a shot at a belt in a third weight division. With that assessment he believes that Froch is the easiest to beat. But of course Bhop will also get paid because if money isn't a motivating factor for him then he would be a fool.

I also find it somewhat amusing that you keep claiming that Bhop is so irrelevant but, you yourself have spent the better part of the last day or so rambling on and on about him. And getting really pissed off in the process while calling fellow forum members vile names. So, in reality maybe you are the one that needs to calm down?

You also may not admit it but I bet you actually watched BHop's fights. Something tells me you watched them for the same reason I did and that was hoping that he would lose. And just maybe you are so vocal because you hope the fight doesn't happen because you believe Froch might lose.
I personally don't want the fight to happen because I hope Froch fights and beats the snot of Junior. But it would not surprise me in the slightest if Froch fought Bhop and actually lost.

In closing I will say it again Bhop is professional boxer and he has became a wealthy man in the process. With that said, I believe that regardless of what size it may be, that would have been hard to do with little to no fan base. And again I believe most reasonable fans would agree with that statement. So, what now are you going to start calling me vile names, love?

"Vile names" - oh no what would the church elders say?

I've asked you a few questions and given you a few facts yet you still seem to want to ignore them whilst talking about irrelevant **** like what language I use and if I've watched Hopkins fights.

Of course I watch his fights. I'm a hardcore boxing fan. But Hopkins has never ever appealed to a wider casual audience or a PPV audience The proof is in the pudding. The last time he was the lead name on a PPV, it sold 40k....not 400k....Forty Thousand.

He doesn't fight in Vegas. He doesn't fight on PPV. Those are two things Froch wants which he can't offer. It's that simple.

What is your actual point anyway? Hopkins is a wealthy man....woop de doo. It doesn't mean jack when we're talking about negotiating this fight because he will dance to Froch's tune. His net worth could be from a number of things. I hear he has invested his money very well and has a lot of property as well as other assets.

What was my actual point? Oh, it was that you stated that no one wants to watch Bhop fight and he had no fan base and I disagreed based on the fact that Hopkins has made a fair share of money during his career so someone had to have been watching. And once again I am not a big fan of his so it wasn't always me.

As far the PPV is concerned I have to say that it isn't surprising that Bhop isn't a big PPV draw. Because I myself would have never paid to watch him fight. Simply because I believe him to be a dirty as well as a boring fighter. But its still not as bad as you are trying to make it out to be.

Simply because Bhop's last PPV event was his second fight with Jones. A fight that I have never watched and a fight that served no purpose what so ever and it did horrible PPV numbers. However, it was in the neighborhood of 150,000 buys and nowhere near the 40,000 that you claim. But if I have the wrong information please point out to me the PPV event you were referring to. And since you like numbers so much here are a few.

Nineteen of Bhob's last twenty fights have either been on HBO HBOPPV or Showtime. With that said I cannot imagine that those networks would invest so much into a venture that wasn't making them money. So, again regardless of the size of his fan base it was obviously enough that those networks have kept Bhop on the payroll as a main event fighter for the past decade or so.

You also stated earlier on that Bhop chased Kovalev to AC. Well, here are some more numbers for you. Bhop made his pro debut in AC when Sergey was five years old. He also fought ten out of his first twenty eight fights in AC while fighting once in Vegas. And since he won his first title he has fought nine times in Vegas and seven times in AC.

I only mentioned that because you make it sound as if there is something bad about fighting in AC. All I can say to that I'm not sure what sport you have followed but AC has a long and pretty good history with the sport of boxing.
And its also much closer to Philly and Bhob's fan base.

In closing I will say it once again. You keep insisting that Bhop is so irrelevant and yet you keep babbling on about him. I wonder if you are trying convince us or yourself that he is as irrelevant as you try to make it sound. I have to ask does this 5hit keeps you awake at night?

As far as the personal attacks are concerned I just find it to be a bit immature.

                • LMAOOOOO. Carl Froch is alot of things...a coward isn't one. His resume is damn near as good as Hopkins. He wants one last payday before calling it quits and honestly I don't blame him.

I had to cut out most of the rambling crap you posted and just respond to this part.

When I say "no one wants to watch him". I don't literally mean no one. I didn't realise I had to explain that to an adult human being.

Yes people do watch him but not enough people care about him to be an attraction in Las Vegas or to be a PPV attraction. Those are the two boxes Froch wants ticked and he can't provide either.

Btw his last PPV fight was the Dawson debacle which did 40k buys.
