"According to CompuBox statistics, Pacquiao outlanded Marquez in nine rounds. Marquez outlanded Pacquiao in just one round (the eighth), and they landed an equal number of punches in two rounds (the third and ninth). In terms of power punches landed, according to CompuBox statistics, Pacquiao outlanded Marquez in eight of the rounds."

How can you win a fight if the Champion(Pacquiao) is the one who is making the move/offense while the Challenger(Marquez) is waiting for a perfect time to counterpunch?

Will you gave the round to the challenger if he didn't land a meaningful counterpunch while the champion was pressing the attack and landed more pucnh than the challenger in that particular round.

Pacquiao won that fight or draw if you like Marquez.

The poll speaks for itself. The vast majority of people felt Marquez was jobbed as he was. Marquez clearly won the third fight, was unjustfully denied the decision but came back to knock Pacquiao out, proving to be Pacquiao's kryptonite as Manny was NEVER able to convincingly beat Marquez. Is JMM greater than Manny?? I don't think so but Marquez, a great fighter in his own right, clearly has Pacquiao's number.

This is really difficult fight to judge, i remember there are 4 or 5 round which could go either way. most of the time i got pac winning but at the actual after fight i thought Marquez had this in the bag but after that my opinion varies.

still think this is the closest fight between those two.

You are a fool if you base scoring a fight on compubox numbers. Even in the Philippines, Pacquiao supporters expressed their opinions concerning the rigged decision; it's on youtube. But anyways, we all know how the rivalry ended.

Another close fight. When it was finished I thought they were going to give JMM the win, didn't happened.
Really comes down to what you prefer, aggression or counters. Both were on display in that fight.
Pac used his speed andn angles to bust up JMM's face. JMM timed and countered Pac and made him look bad at times. Judges thought Pac won.

Operators of Compubox have different angles compared what you saw on tv. You can dismiss Compubox all you want but the TV angles didnt show all angles too.

"CompuBox's purpose is to settle controversies surrounding fights by counting each punch thrown by each of the fighters, and also each punch landed, to provide fight viewers with a final punchstat count and a perception of who should ideally be given the judges' decision, in the cases where a fight lasts the full distance."

And it was not a robbery. Look how close it was

"Among the unofficial scorers above, 57 scored the bout for Marquez, 51 scored the bout for Pacquiao, and the remaining 36 scored the bout a draw."

Marquez undoubtedly won that fight. I couldn't give Pacquiao more than 3 rounds.

Marquez lost this fight, gave it up at the championship rounds. This is also when he started juicing under memo heredia.

I think it was a very close fight between two evenly matched fighters who knew each other so well. I thought Pacquiao edged it out by throwing and landing slightly more punches but I won't argue with those who thought Marquez won and they are the majority.
