Lewis/Wlad/Hopkins all came back from defeats. So why doubting Broner?

Broner has struggled against fighters he should have dominated. He just hasn't shown signs of the ability to be a long reigning world champion like Wlad, Hopkins and Lewis.

Lewis and Wlad was both knocked out but still came back. Hopkins lost his
FIRST FIGHT and became a legend afterwards. Broner is YOUNGER than all 3 at the times of their set backs. So why the doubt?

Could it be that Lewis/Wlad/Hopkins are a 'specific' type of people? And that's why they don't get doubted?
There were doubts about those guys too when it came to them fighting big punchers. Well, at least Wlad and Lewis. Broner hasn't looked all that special since he jumped up to 147. He didn't look that great against Paulie, didn't look that great against Maidana and even at his first fight at 140 he didn't really do s#it in that fight. There's no doubt he's a good fighter, but he is nothing special. Just look at how he baloons up between fights and partys way too much. He doesn't have what it takes to be all he can be. He could be much better.

BINGO. Thread should have ended after this post. Broner just isn't an A level fighter. Look at his comp and how he has competitive bouts with them. He hasn't worked on his faults yet (staying the hell off the ropes and being ALOT more active with his punches). He needs to work on his flaws before he can get to the next level.

For starters, all of them have a higher ring iq than Broner.

He signs have been there from the start.

Struggled badly and arguably lost to Quintero.

Struggled badly and arguably lost to Ponce De Leon.

Struggled badly and arguably lost to past it Pauli.

They were telling signs already. You don't struggle with this kind of fighters and almost lose to them I you're the real deal.

The only time he's looked good against a good fighter is Demarco. Demarco's a good fighter but he's nothing to shout about.

He's then been battered by Maidana (only top level guy he's faced) then went life and death with Taylor who's a fringe contender.

So basically the writing it on the wall.

It's not the weight in itself that's the issue. It's how it indicates the kind of lifestyle choices that he's making in between bouts. He's a professional athlete and one that needs a lot of work at that. Taking months off at a time and eating junk aren't going to improve him as a fighter.

He's been beaten because there are glaring defensive flaws in his game. He's not displaying the kind of mindset that he'll need to work at rectifying that.

When Lewis got beat it was because of his tendancy to have lapses in concentration when he didn't consider his opponent to be much of a threat. That was easy to rectify.

Wladimir was able to come back precisely because his mindset is so geared towards development through purposeful practice. He's a consummate professional. Whatever people think of him in the ring, the way he prepares himself out of it is on another level.

At the moment Broner just isn't displaying those type of characteristics and it's those that he'll need to be the best that he can be.

The manner of the defeat and the fact that Broner should have at least one more loss on his record. The Quintero fight was an out and out robbery.

Maidana showed that someone with strength or someone with power will always be at worst 50/50 against Broner.

Those guys are much better fighters than Broner will ever be. I have seen Broner fight many times. He is just a better than average fighter but nothing special. I don't compare him with all time greats like Lewis, Wlad and Hopkins. His own team doesn't have much faith in him. He hasn't fought even a top 20 rated fighter since Maidana showed him how good he isn't. Broner will continue to win fights as long as they don't match with really good fighters like Matthysse, Ruslan or Garcia. If he fights the best 140 pound fighters I think he will lose again and I'd bet money on it.

In this site if you haven't noticed as soon as a fighter loses he was no good to start with, exposed, never fought anybody, should retire, is done, is shot, etc.

Pac had to KO loses and became #1 P4P, Wlad looks like this crop of HW can't stop him and you can never bet against Hopkins.

Fighters are always one win away of stardom or big money fights

With Broner it's his mental, psychological approach. He starts reading the boxing headlines about being the next huge star, going as far as being called the next Mayweather. Much of that is his mouth building up the interests and expectations of some who fell into the hype, despite struggling with PDL and Quinona, potentially losing to them and losing to Maidana which clearly indicated he was not all that.

Then he started living the lifestyle of the rich and famous and crude attention-getting antics with his bathroom scenes getting a BJ on video and flushing money and taking a sht and going down on a ho, slurs. Somewhere along the line, focus and dedication were lost. But then recently he was noted as getting paid huge sums doing nightclub spots and then he gained weight. His dedication is the antithesis of Hopkins. And it shows. If he had the mental, psychological approach as a hungry determined fighter, sure he could be a champ again. But when he started making money, he lost the hunger in more than one way. He seems to believe he can do anything he puts his mind to, but the question is how much is he willing to sacrifice to his showboating fur coat lifestyle in favor of blood, sweat, and tears?

Not sure if he has gotten that eye of the tiger back or ever will, but a dedicated Broner could do quite a bit. Rather than just believing he is the best fighter, he has to train like he is. Not sure he can make that change and drop all the rich and famous stuff and take himself back to when he was a young fighter dreaming of making it big. He will have to do that. How much he has trained and the shape he comes into for his next fight will give everyone a glimpse of where he is at. He can put his mind to anything, he just needs to make sure his body follows. He seems to already believe he is there, meaning he has already built his castle, that is his greatness to be. But the problem is, he got lazy and forgot to lay one rock or brick at a time with planning and placement. If he goes back to the drawing board, he could come out at his best, whatever that is. I don't think he has ever given it more that 50%/60% so perhaps he can rise to become his best. Everyone will know if he is determined or not or just wants to live the lifestyle that pleases him. I guess we will see. I wont knock him.....the human mind can be very powerful when it lets nothing stop it.
