This is by far Degale's hardest fight I dont think the same can be said about Dirrell. I think Dirrell wins this in a relatively easy but boring UD

Dirrell was a very talented fighter, no doubt about it. However he's in decline, and has wasted the best years of his career. In his recent fights, he's looked poor.

DeGale is also an incredibly talented fighter, and he's in his prime and is finally injury free. It won't be a walkover but I'd expect chunky to get the UD.

Agree that it's DeGale's toughest fight of his career so far.

If this was the Dirrell from before the Abraham incident then I would have him as the heavy favourite. However, the current comeback Dirrell is untested against even decent opposition and while he still looks fast and talented, his chin comes with a lot of doubt and he'll be even more dodgy as far as mentality goes.

You really shouldn't be criticizing Andre Dirrell's opposition when the man standing across from him is James DeGale. Froch and Abraham were 2 of the top SMWs of the time. What does DeGale have that matches that? Groves and Gonzales? It's DeGale that is untested and unproven.

It was a response to the thread title, Dirrell is a threat granted but I wouldn't say a "massive threat". Those two title fights were five years ago and there's not a lot else to his record considering how highly he is rated. Imo DeGale can win this one, potentially even via stoppage.

I quite clearly stated that I was talking about Dirrell post-Abraham knockout.

Since then, he was out for years, had other inactive spells and has fought nobody since returning...and he was badly rocked last time out.

I believe the super six version of Dirrell beats DeGale comfortably, but current Dirrell? There's some big questions as to what level he's at. DeGale's last two opponents were solid and he blasted them out, Dirrell hasn't seen a solid opponent since the Abraham debacle.

                Negative.

You sound fckin ******ed. Anyone with a half a boxing brain knows DeGale is easy work for Dirrell. These bouts are just preliminary to the inevitable showdown with Andre Ward. Only then will we know how good Dirrell truly is. Anyone who tells you different is a fckin idiot.

Do people ever predict close fights on here?

It's always one guy is going to destroy or kill the other. This is a 50/50 match up and will likely be very close.

DeGale isn't easy work for anyone dumbass. People are still wanking over Direll's performance in the super 6. That was a long time ago. Ward & Direll won't fight each other anyway, they're a pair of b1tches.

Derek Edwards and Periban are of the same level IMO.
