Floyd was almost KO'd by Corley and Mosely. No shock.

I can't ever see this feat being topped.
What was shocking about the fight wasn't just that Iron Mike got beat, but how he was beaten. With the exception of a few brief stretches in that fight (most notably the 8th rd KD), Tyson got completely owned. Buster fought amazingly well that night. In fact, I strain to recall a better performance by a HW contender. The KO itself was a thing of savage beauty; a DEVASTATING 5-punch combo that you NEVER see from today's HWs. The sustained beating and that final combo would have put most fighters out cold, but Tyson, tough as hell, actually got his ass back up. Floyd getting KO'd would not compare. About the only thing that could compare would be Floyd getting outboxed for 12 rounds by someone like Brandon Rios.

Btw, Buster was a legit top ten fighter (#7) when he fought Tyson. The guy had real skills, but hadn't really shown heart up to that point (and never again). The 42-1 underdog status had everything to do with Tyson's aura of invincibility at the time.

I saw Buster Beat Tony Tucker, for 9 rounds and gas, in the 10th, for the L,
on the Under card of Tyson, Pinklin Thomas card at the Hilton, in 87..., and
was sorry I missed the 42/1, cause he flat kicked Tucker's Ass for 9...
Tyson guided by King, was not the Baddest Man on the Planet, No Mas!!!

Please. That fight was pretty even untill Tucker decapitated Douglass near the end of the fight.

That same young Tucker would have beaten that Tyson in Tokyo that day.

I'll second that. For one night in his life, the man truly was great.

And then he threw it all away with his first title defense. Got fat and out of shaped and literally quit. He may have been great that one night but overall he was a disgrace to boxing.

Nah, the Holyfield fight was a huge disappointment, but Buster will always be remembered for one night only. He peaked when it mattered most.
