I can't say Hagler won, though. He was totally unable to assert his will in that fight, unable to hurt Leonard, and unable to win enough rounds.

But even if we call it a draw, SRL's resume is unmatched.
Ray waited and waited. Hagler has a moral victory in this one.

Leonard didn't beat Hagler and his win against Hearn was because of the referee stopping the fight. I'm pretty sure, Hearns beat Leonard in the scorecard during that time. There are reasons why they rank Duran over Leonard

This is from the International Boxing Research Organization (admittedly outdated)

Updated September 2006 (I added their KO and TKO Losses)

      1. Sugar Ray Robinson 1 TKO
      2. Harry Greb 1 KO and 1 TKO
      3. Henry Armstrong 1 KO and 1 TKO
      4. Muhammad Ali (Tie) 1 RTD/TKO
      4. Joe Louis (Tie) 2 KO
      6. Sam Langford 2 KO and 7 TKO
      7. Roberto Duran 1 KO and 3 TKO
      8. Benny Leonard 2 KO and 3 TKO
      9. Willie Pep 1 KO and 5 TKO/RTD
      10. Bob Fitzsimmons 5 KO and 2 TKO/RTD
      11. Joe Gans 4 KO and 1 TKO
      12. Ezzard Charles (Tie) 4 KO and 3 TKO
      12. Sugar Ray Leonard (Tie) 1 TKO
      14. Jimmy Wilde 1 KO and 2 TKO
      15. Eder Jofre no KO
      16. Mickey Walker 2 KO and 4 TKO
      17. Archie Moore 5 KO and 2 TKO
      18. Jack Dempsey 1 KO
      19. Jack Johnson 3 KO and 3 TKO/RTD
      20. Gene Tunney no KO

Just missing the cut: Stanley Ketchel, Barbados Joe Walcott, Rocky Marciano, Tony Canzoneri, Barney Ross, Ike Williams, George Dixon, Sandy Saddler, Roy Jones Jr., and Larry Holmes.

I'd buy this if they were in the same weight class, maybe.

Moral victories don't impress me. Hagler didn't get r done in the ring

The ref stopped the fight because Leonard was beating Hearns' brains out and he wasn't able to defend himself. He himself seemed OK with it. Kept him alive.

            • Pacquiao and Mayweather won't even be on the poll options if a thread like this is made in 10 years. When they are retired and the fans have moved on.

I know, but if the referee didn't stopped that fight Hearns will win that. Hearns was still standing during that time too. Hearns won their rematch, but the judges gave it a draw.

Leonard best win for me is still Duran in rematch. It was Duran's fault why he lost that fight and I gave Leonard full credit on that fight

Leonard ducked the rematch because he was losing the first fight. Did the same after Duran 2 and Hagler.

they were talking ray-marv since like 82.

WW vs MV champs is very common.
