This seems to be recurring a lot. Here's a thought: I am not a professional boxer- just a fan. I did not sign my name on the line to do this for a living.

However, boxers do. It's about standards really. And allowing running does drop standards. Of course most of us would be humbled if we stepped into a boxing ring. And most of us aren't going to be professional boxers either. If you can't hack it, like most of us, then like I said, find something else to do.

    And spare the fans.

Exactly. I don't understand when boxers say that they're concerned about getting hurt. If that's the case then find yourself a nice safe desk job.

Of course I don't except a fighter to not use defense. Its part of boxing. But if you literally have to run from your opponent (like what Lara did vs Canelo) in order to avoid getting hit, then maybe boxing isn't for you.

And Most of the time in the Canelo fight Mayweather was doing the walking Canelo down.

So my thing is, what is really considered running?

How many alts do you need, fat Laz?

Every fighter is different and uses the style that gives him the best opportunity to win. You admit to just being a fan so play your position as a fan and don't tell the actual fighters how to do their job and feed their families.

There is no right or wrong way to win a boxing match. If your a fan of the sport of boxing as a whole learn to appreciate all styles and educate yourself on what the fighter is looking to accomplish by circling a certain way, changing angles or trying to create distance. If a particular style is not for you then don't watch those particular guys fight. If your a fan then you probably have a list of fighters whose styles you enjoy. Stick to that list.

This is what you call a defensive master! Not what guys like Lara do. Running to avoid taking punishment is not a skill.

              Exactly. Pretty simple concept really.

That sounds good in theory, but we can't really only choose to watch certain fighters since guess what...our favorite fighters fight those guys who we don't like!

It's not a style thing. It's a foul and too many guys get away with it. It makes a mockery of everything. If I enjoy Marcos Maidana and not Mayweather, well I can't just watch my favorite fighter. Can I? In the rematch Mayweather ran plenty. Too many times, these guys run, lnad a few punches on the outside that look worse than they really are and then tie their opponent up and the referee accommodates them by breaking up the action just when an aggressive fighter like Maidana is in his chosen range to fight. Now you can say he should learnt to cut off the ring better, but my question is why? Cutting off the ring used to never get mentioned because no one had to do it. Because no one ran. Since the days of SRL, they have become more and more common and this is why many people have tuned out of boxing.

There is a difference between running and movement. A guy posted a video of Winky Wright explaining the difference. It is a foul plain and simple, not a matter of styles. I have seen and enjoyed every style at one time or another, but I know running when I see it and it is flat out ridiculous and insulting to the sport.

You were probably one of the people that wanted to see Maidana vs. Mayweather because you wanted one of your favorite fighters to get a shot at beating the #1 guy in the sport. But when you found out your favorite fighter was the limited, slow footed brawler that can't deal with movement with you got upset.

You Maidana fans could have demanded a rematch with Josesito Lopez or a fight with Rios or Alvarado for your enjoyment but for some reason, you wanted to torture yourself by demanding that he fight this boring runner.

You can't have it both ways. If you want to see your favorite action fighter fight the best he will have to go up against guys like Floyd, Rigo and Lara and he will have to develop a strategy to work the body and impose his style on the mover better than the mover imposes his style on him. If you just want him to **** heads with the Josesito Lopez' of the worlds than hey, whatever floats your boat.
