Well, I would have mentioned Broner...but he's a ****...most of his trash talk you laugh at him not with him. It's not very intelligent.

Boxing is a sport where the competitors usually talk a lot of trash...it comes with the territory of that character and self belief a boxer must have to truly become successful. Of course, sometimes a fighter's 'bark is worse than his bite'. For every Muhammad Ali you have a David Haye. For every Mike Tyson you have....Tyson Fury.

So, BoxingScene - who are your top time ATG trash talkers? List as many as you like, but perhaps try to keep it to around 10.

For me the best is Ali.

After that there are a number of good trash talkers. Roberto Duran was pretty good at it and he was mean with it. Mayweather is good at it along with Fernando Vargas and Mike Tyson.

According to Joe Louis in his book, Tony Galento was a good trash talker.


Mayorga talked trash but rarely backed it up. I like fighters who back up their trash talking.

I dont see how Floyd can be considered a good trash talker. Most of his stuff is rehearsed and regurgitated. When its not he says stuff like "Im a gorilla, Im a dog".
