WBC Heavyweight Championship: Povetkin Vs Perez / Vs Wilder

The WBC has ordered a Heavyweight Championship final eliminator fight between Russian,Alexander Povetkin and Cuban/Irish,Mike Perez

The winner will be the mandatory, number one contender for American Deontay Wilder's WBC Heavyweight title.

So how do you think this will pan out?

Povetkin beats Perez, Povetkin beats Wilder?

Povetkin beats Perez, Wilder beats Povetkin?

Perez beats Povetkin, Perez beats Wilder?

Perez beats Povetkin, Wilder beats Perez?

povetkin should get by perez and I give him the edge over wilder. povetkin is the best combination puncher in the division. wilder will be dangerous tho

Both Povetkin and Mike Perez are tough as nails but Wilder would out box Perez and no doubt get the robbery if he didn't. I'd back Povetkin to beat Perez over 12 and to KO Wilder in the championship rounds.

He lost to Jennings, drew with the guy Povetkin knocked out, and he recently beat a journeyman.

          Sounds deserving, right?

Povetkin stops Perez late or wins a decision, depending how motivated Mike is and his condition. Also depends if Povetkin is continuing to improve and get into better shape. If Wilder can make sufficient improvements in his game, he has a chance against Povetkin purely because of the size advantage - he couldn't do much at all v Wlad (ok, clinching played a big part) but the height disadvantage bothered him. If Wilder could box on the outside he could win, doubt he stops Povetkin though who has a solid chin and heart. Perhaps he could drop him but Wilder at this stage would probably be stopped in the mid to late rounds.

              Wilder should beat either

good attempt by WBC to make matchups. but Perez lost to Jennings and Povetkin got smoked by the Silver Hammer. Wilder should beat either, but I love boxing and that will work for me.

Whoever wins this fight will go through like 8 more eliminators knowing how the WBC operates.

Mike Perez is a good fighter man. He's got that Cuban class that comes from 100+ amateur fights (before he defected to Ireland)

He came very close to beating Jennings. Only going out on a SD. He really should have beaten Takam, should never have let the judges call it a draw.

You can put down to the mental trauma he felt after what his punches did to Magomed. Magomed is now brain damaged from that fight, He is in a wheel chair, probably will never walk again. He almost died.

Mike is in a better situation now. Training with Robert Garcia in Oxnard California. He said after his last fight that he will fight Povetkin next.
Garcia says Mike is a very skilled fighter, and they believe that they can beat Povetkin and move on to bigger things.

An in shape motivated Sascha stops and schools Wilder. With Perez I could see a points win for the Russian, depends if Perez ever gets himself into shape really.

Povetkin has turned his career around, after the Huck performance his name was mud. If he stays in the shape he has been in these past few fights and retains his ambition, I don't see anyone better than him bar the champion.
