Wlad has no time for clowns like Fury and Briggs, They are trying to talk their way into a fight with him but the Doctor is too smart for that. He wants the WBC belt back. So he's going to have to beat Wilder for it.Comment

Boxing is very small in Alabama. It's a college football hotbeds. People there are football crazy, they have no interest in a boxing champ, especially a black one. Alabama is one of the most racist states in America.

And maybe you forgot - Fury is Wlad's mandatory challenger so he doesn't need to talk his way into a fight with him. His fists already did the talking.
And at least Fury wants to fight Wlad. I don't think Wilder does. We'll find out about that soon enough. If he and Haymon want it, it's right there for them. Provided Wlad gets past Jennings, of course.Comment

As for your theory of racist sports fans I am not going to be ****** enough to say they don't exist. But they obviously support black football players. And I may be wrong but something tells me that winning another national championship means more to those rabid fans then the color of the skin of any particular player.
As for the nonsense about a black boxer not being popular in the South. Holyfield was from the South and he happened to be very popular in Georgia. That is the state that is right next to Alabama. He was so popular that they even named a street after him. He also became a very wealthy man and I seriously doubt that that could have happened if he only had the support of the black population.
With that said, there is no doubt that boxing has taken a major blow in the USA as a whole. But as much as you may want to believe it I believe it has more to do with things such as the MMA and absolutely nothing at all to do with racism. Have a good day!Comment

I'm from Alabama - and it is NOT one of the most racist states in America. That's a stereotype perpetuated by non-Southern media. There is racism everywhere, and it can be found in Alabama. However, the vast majority of people here get along fine with each other as friends, coworkers, members of faith communities, sports fans....etc.
I'm white and I'm a Wilder fan, and a Mayweather fan, and an Andre Ward fan, and an Andy Lee fan, and a Juan Manuel Marquez fan, and a GGG fan...etc.
Our views of self down here have become, and continue to become more regional than racial - I have more in common with Wilder being a black country dude from Tuscaloosa than I do with most white people outside of the South. Don't believe what someone tells you about a place unless you've lived there, or know someone objective who has...for some time.Last edited by JSharp3180; 02-09-2015, 03:26 PM.Comment

Wilder really isn't much of a fighter and he has a terrible glass chin to boot. At best he is just a transitionary title holder.Comment
