Official Matthysse vs Provodnikov Fight Thread

Provodnikov doesn't move his head, nor does he have a jab to keep Matthysse off of him momentarily. Matthysse can't fight on the inside either, so it's pretty obvious someone is gonna go and although I initially had Matthysse slicing through Provodnikov, I'm not sure anymore.

Who has provo ever stopped that was on the level of Matthysse or even under it a notch. it took him how long to stop a competely shot Alvarado.

Provo has 2-3 rds. After that he will be reduced to following his opponent, throwing minimal punches, and have a low guard while sucking air.

Matthysse late mid Rd ko/tko. First few rds should be fun.

I see Matthysse scoring and boxing his way to a lead, then maybe a late KO victory.

I know we'd all rather see a slugfest. If Matthysse really wants to win, he will box Provo and avoid the kind of grimey, mauling fight that plays right into Provo's hands..

I don't care who wins but I'd be happier with a Matthysse win. Then I look back at the Provodnikov/ Alvardo face off with kellerman and it gives me the chills. His attitude is great for boxing.

At the end of the 12th round Matthysse & Prov take out the referee and they continue to fight without stopping for another 10 minutes till they both collapse.

I like both but I think Matthysse late stoppage or UD. I feel bad for the loser because I feel they could both easily win world titles but a loss would drop them down the rankings and at 31 and 32, it's a long way back up

Might go into overtime if it's close by the 4th quarter and the refs let them play.

If it does end by KO, hopefully it's somewhat early. If this kind of fight goes into the championship rounds, someone isn't going to be the same, maybe both.
