Because we don't know who else was cheating but never got caught.
Why Is Mosley Still Respected When He Is a Self Admitted PED Cheater?

I dont respect any drug user in boxing. Mosley gets a pass because he smiles and doesnt talk trash just like Lamont Pederson, just imagine if Cotto was the one who was caught the way Mosley was caught or imagine if Khan was the one who fought with pellets in his system just like Pederson did.Comment

There are different sides to it.
When Mosley was caught there was little or no understanding of doping in boxing. There still isn't much, relative to most other sports, but back then hardly anyone understood the significance of it at all.
Secondly, boxing is such a technical sport that PEDs can only make so much of a difference. PEDs won't make an average fighter into a great fighter, like they make mediocre athletes in cycling, running, or swimming into great athletes. So in the end most people acknowledge that a top fighter who doped was probably still a top fighter. Toney and Roy for example.
Finally, most of the people you hear accusing a fighter of being on PEDs don't really give a shit about PEDs. They're emotionally stunted fanboys who will jump on any opportunity to detract from a fighter they don't like, or a fighter their hero is accused of ducking.Comment

Because no matter what dude was bad back in the day and you have to give him the respect of the gloves .. Every fighter at the top takes stuff though... Manny and Floyd for example are on stuff like epo-hgh-GENE TAMPERING!! that makes Mosley cycle look like antibioticsComment

He was a doper but that doesn't mean he was a 'cheater'. The likely truth of the matter is the majority (or at least a large minority) of the top fighters have been, and still are, doping. To condemn Mosley is simply to condemn one of the guys who got caught. I'm pretty sure just about every fighter in the sport knows the score.Comment

Yeah I'm sure that a professional athlete like Mosley had no clue what he was putting in his body.Well he admitted using the CREAM, which he didn't know was a steroid. A lot of the athletes that used it didn't know what it was because it was a designer and they kept passing tests because it didn't show up on the banned substances list from the NSAC. He used it during the De La Hoya rematch, which really didn't help him all that much cause I thought he lost that rematch and a lot of people do as well.
90% of the UFC guys who get caught with steroids also use the same excuse, the remaining 10% say "my sample was contaminated".Comment

Why is it always the Americans being caught taking steroids or cheating? He was a doper but that doesn't mean he was a 'cheater'. Well the sample may be biased by plenty of things. I don't think it is simply a problem with Americans. Why is it always the Americans being caught taking steroids or cheating?
