Lamont Peterson already got throttled by Lucas Matthyesse.

What's the "importance" in Peterson's IBF championship, at this moment?

No wonder so many fighters are signing with Al Haymon. They know that they'll be protected and will keep the belt they won so long as they stay with him and don't even show any reluctance. Poor Lucas, he's like a red headed step child under Haymon stable of protected fighters. Smdh. WBC should just strip him his belt for not defending it two fights in a row. Freaking Algeire got his belt taken away for fighting above he's previous title fight. These alphabet title means nothing really.

I think we'll see Matthysse v Postol if he isn't annihilated by Provo.

Postol doesn't deserve it though, he took step-aside money. You should lose your mandatory spot if you do that. If he didn't take that money Garcia would've vacated that title and we wouldn't be getting the 143lb sham.

I personally don't recognize Garcia as a true champion anymore. He has disrespected one of the strongest division in boxing by not defending. He is fighting Peterson and there is no reason why it can't be for the belts.

The WBC should force him to defend these belts or strip him of all his titles.

            To me

            WBA champion - Vargas
            WBC champion - Vacant
            IBF champion - Peterson
            WBO champion - Vacant

              WBA Champion - Herrera
              WBC Champion - Herrera
              IBF Champion - Herrera
              WBO Champion - Provodnikov

Matthysse won the IBF, Garcia beat Matthysse and Herrera took all three belts. Imo Algieri got a hometown win against the champ, I had Provo winning that by 2-3 points, Algieri too deep in the holes with k/ds.

              Just my take on it.

This shouldn't surprise anyone. That one of the vampire organisms(WBC) after it was gonna strip Danny García of his title for not defending against the mandatory is now bending the rules & accepting that he does ANOTHER nontitle fight AS LONG AS HE STILL PAYS SACTIONING FEES & at the end that's all it comes down to & that's all they care about cause ALL THESE ORGANISM'S(WBA, WBC, IBF & WBO)are a BUNCH OF LEECHES...

If you mean Garcia then no. If you mean the belt then maybe. Garcia will vacate after the Peterson fight and it will be Postol vs Matthysse. Why would Garcia fight twice over 140 just to go back down to the weight and fight Postol? The idea, according to the Garcias, is to get acclimated to the weight (147). Going back down to 140 wouldnt help or make any sense.
