still too early to say haymon is a savior. he definitely has a more modern mindset. but right now there are two systems going on and that is whats blocking fights. if every promoter sold contracts to haymon and just cashed out and promoted on a fight by fight basis, we will see what the real deal is. could promoters collectively lowball the **** out of these fighters or would the promoters be outbidding each other? transitions are not always easy but im sure these promoters could still do good business.

as long as there is two systems, al haymon will be the scapegoat because he is the upstart with the new system. i am curious though how it would go if everyone went with his system.

i like the thread, but really don't like the biased options.
i chose haymon, because hes getting all the big names, and are putting them in with each other on NBC.

this is GREAT for boxing, back to the mainstream!

People are giving him credit for making those fights and on network tv

But it's well documented that he doesn't get on with hbo and arum
So some blame as to why PAC Floyd hasn't happened can be attributed to him

For better or worse, boxing in the US is HBO and SHO, the only guys that have the budget for this. He's burned bridges with both, and is playing with investor money both buying network TV time and paying generous fighter purses. Hard to see how this works out, but if it does, props to him despite fragmenting the sport even more.

You will get a lot of emotional responses to your question, but you will not get much in the way of a yes or no answer with an intelligent response. The majority of the people who post on this site are emotion-driven whiners who use this message board as a forum to express their hatred of Floyd Mayweather and anyone positively associated with Mayweather.

I don't think he has fragmented the sport. I don't care if he has burned bridges. He is offering us quality fights we want to see and we don't have to pay for them. I don' care how long it lasts. If the experiment fails, we can always go back to the crappy system we have now where we see one or two quality fight per year on HBO and Showtime with four or five fights per year that they expect us to pay $70 or more to watch.
