Last year the fight i wanted to see most (besides manny-floyd) was kovalev stevenson. Was really excited at the prospect of that fight. Two ko artists who were either top 2 or top 2 out of 3 in their division. The fight was apparently a done deal by the evil promoters as you say. Then something happened, in comes Al ****ing haymon. The instant Stevenson signed with him i knew the fight was dead, because Al Haymon doesn't believe in 50/50 match ups. Bam two weeks later the duck was complete.
Let's jump to 2015. The fight i want to see over any other match up is lomanchenko walters. Huge fight in the lower weight classes,. Really excited about the prospect of this fight, until rumors of Al ****ing Haymon stepping in again. We all know what is going to happen if he does.
They're are obviously other examples. I know loma walters isn't done yet.. but if it does. He will have single handedly ruined my top two fights over the last two years.

People in here need stop bringing up Bob Arum the man has help made fights like Hagler vs Leonard, Chavez vs De La Hoya, Holyfield vs Foreman, Foreman vs Moorer, Leonard vs Hearns, Hagler vs Hearns, Ali vs Frazier II and both Ali vs Spinks fights , Al Haymon is not on his lever but he can be if he does the right things in the next 10 years

The old saying goes you are either getting better or getting worse, there is no staying the same. A lot of boxing promoters are in the game of trying to stay the same, which is a fools game.
Seriously, getting TV dates is solid money but everyone fighting over the same pool is basically a shell game, some guys appear while others falls off but nothing is really ever any different.
Nobody has done much to change the order of things in the last couple decades, and change can be scary.

well it honestly depends how it pans out, if haymon failed he could have done more damage to the sport then good.
Right now its looks like he is making power moves but its all in theory we have to see how it impacts the sport to really give a honest opinion.
