Like others in the thread said, Rigo is too small. Walters looks too strong at 126, I think he stops Rigo. If he did move up I'd like to see him vs a Donaire (least interesting), Mares or Grandovich first. Would all be great fights and would go a long way for Rigo's claim to top P4P IMO. Beating those names then knocking off a champ in Walters/Gonzalez would be huge.

I am sure Rigo has faced someone of walters length and size in amateurs. Don't give me that pros to amateurs difference, When it comes to rigondeaux, it doesn't work. 400+ Amateur fights, he has seen it all.

Crawford had a five inch reach advantage over Gamboa and look how difficult of a time he had closing that gap. He had success early because he's an offensive wizard but eventually you get worn out getting cracked in the face repeatedly. Also walters jab is vastly superior to crawfords, and his power is greater., the result would be much worse for rigo.

Walters UD/SD ...Waters drops Rigo a couple times mid fight and cause Rigo to "box" cautiously for the rest of the fight .

It's hard question but I voted for Rigo by decision.

Walters by KO. Rigo's chin is questionable and has been caught several times by lesser fighters whom don't have an educated jab to even compare with Nicholas. Rigo is much too economical and even though he's a great boxer, he would have to outbox Walters by closing the gap and working at mid range. Now way he gets passed Walters' jab without hitting the canvas a few times before getting KO'd. He can sit back and try to counter but again, Walters could just fire off jabs and be at a relatively safe range due to his massive reach.

Rigo might have seen it all in the amateurs but that won't make him unbeatable in the pro ranks. If that was the case then Loma would have never lost to the dirty tactics Salido brought with him the night during their fight. So yes, amateurs and pro ranks are completely different, no matter how decorated an amateur fighter is it won't prepare him for everything in the pros. Especially not for someone as powerful as Nicholas.
