Why would you say Guerrero is being overpaid? He has paid his dues. He has fought everybody and anybody. He has put his blood, sweat and tears into this profession and made a lot of money for promoters. If he is getting paid $2.5 million, I am happy for him and hope he gets paid that much or more for every fight. He deserves as much money as he can get.

Thurman, on the other hand, has been a well-protected princess who is fighting his first quality opponent. If anybody is getting overpaid, it is Thurman -- regardless of how much they are paying him.

I agree with what you wrote And if you look at my post history I've always been about fighters getting as much $ as possible especially in a cut throat business model like boxing.

Just as a comparison Guererro got something like 3 mil to fight Floyd the biggest name in the sport and it was a PPV that did 800-900k. He's going to make almost that much facing Thurman a unproven commodity in the sport but there's a ton of risk in facing him if the hype is real so thats why Guerrero got paid handsomely. I'm not knocking it and I'm all for getting the $ while its there but There's a high risk in that fight for Guererro if the hype is real. But if you look around no fighter really gets more then 2 mil if it isn't PPV.

So I think they had to pay him top dollar for the risk I'm cool with it, It's a fight I want to see. Maybe overpaid was the wrong word but Guerrero got paid top echelon for a fight against a unproven talent.

With 20 shows scheduled on NBC in 2015, that means that we should see approximately one show every two weeks beginning in March. Add that to the shows scheduled for Spike and possibly BET, and we should be seeing a quality boxing match every week for the entire year once it starts.

It doesn't matter what you think of Al Haymon, if you are a boxing fan, you have to be pleased with what he is doing. Of course, we won't see the best fighting the best every week, but we will get to see plenty of quality matchups during the year. If we see five quality fights between top quality opponents in 2015, that will be two more than we saw in 2014.

Boxing becomes visible to the casuals overnight. If things do work out it's the biggest shift in decades.

AL Haymon is doing a great job so far this year, other than the Leo santa Cruz/Rigo debacle. So far he has made up for the utter sh-t he gave us last year.

Guerrero started at featherweight...if he hasn't paid his dues nobody else has.

Thurman is paying his dues a lot faster than many foriegners ya'll hype around here.
