Nobody knows why Bob does the things that he does. People on here are like "How does what Bob said translate to he doesn't want the fight." I'll tell you right now, Bob doesn't tell the truth. He tells you what you want to hear. And whatever he's doing, we may not know. But he knows. It's been working for 5 years. I once thought it was Floyd who was preventing the fight, but at that time, I didn't do enough research. But time went on, and I've seen contradictory statements and excuses from both Floyd and Arum. Floyd's just seemed like more reasonable excuses to me. I've never thought Floyd asking for drug testing as "weird." And I know at the time, for some reason, everyone thought it was weird. I didn't get it. I always knew that Floyd was a human first, a fighter second. So in that sense, drug testing (a health related concern) seemed reasonable to a human like me (I don't know, I'm normal like that). Mike Tyson made Evander Holyfield take a drug test. I don't think anybody thought that was weird. The only difference between Tyson making Holyfield take the test and Floyd making Manny take the test was Holyfield actually took it and didn't turn it into a big deal. So I've never thought of a drug testing as weird. But I did always think Manny refusing was weird. A normal person would think that's weird, right? But at the time, Arum made something like a random blood and urine testing into a big deal. Of course he changed his tune later and said "drug testing was never an issue." But the point is, by making that into a big deal, it was transitional and the beginning of the "Floyd is scared of Manny" campaign.
I gave Arum a pass for a temporary stadium, because it has been done before and financially, it made sense to me (I'm fair like that.) But what really boggled my mind and what I thought should have boggled everyone's mind was, when Bob knew Floyd was to serve jail time for 2 months, but still claimed the May-Pac fight should be within those two months. Now, answer me this. And yes I really want somebody to answer this question. What The ****? (I promise it's not rhetoric). Floyd said some weird ****, but what Bob just said right here, that was ****ing weird. I've always thought this issue just kind of got overshadowed by other excuses and disappeared from these forums. Floyd was physically going to go to jail for 2 months (I promise I'm not making any of this up. Look it up). And Bob wanted to make the fight in June, knowing Floyd was going to be in jail...in June. Around that time, some people on here focused more on the "I'm a rich coward" quote than Bob trying to do some impossible, unimaginable, unthinkable **** like trying to make the fight within June when Floyd is going to be in jail in June. Of course he followed it up with the whole cut thing. We all know it doesn't take 8 months for a cut to heal up. That's not that hard to understand. I promise. It's not. So I won't explain that one.
I remember during the Martinez vs Chavez press conference, Arum made a statement. Something like "I didn't think Chavez was ready for Martinez. I think he's ready now. Chavez wasn't the coward. His promoter (referring to himself) was the coward." That would have to give it away right? Once again, let's talk about what's normal here. It's normal for a promoter to protect their fighter. It's not normal for people to think that the same promoter wouldn't do the same for another one of his fighter. Because on paper, we all know who should win in the Mayweather vs Pacquiao fight. On paper. It's totally not crazy to think that Arum's cash cow, may just run out of milk after the Mayweather fight. I get it, he has multiple losses already, so people think a loss to the best won't change anything. Just like a loss to Manny would take the invincibility away from Floyd, a fight against Floyd will take away the curiosity away from the people. And after this fight, both Manny and Floyd's value will drop. But if "on paper, Floyd should win" becomes a reality, the curiosity for the fight will go away and their stock will both drop, but Floyd still has his 0 to keep him going. Manny would just be...exciting. (No longer the rival to the best, but defeated by the best.) I really do believe Bob is afraid of what's "on paper." And for a promoter that, my friend, is normal.Last edited by The_Sandman; 02-06-2015, 12:30 AM.

Afraid to leave Arum and be his own many and call his own shots is cowardly....not to mention letting Kroncz walk him around like a pet dog.
Manny can't even go to a Heat game without him.

This fight is happening
Cotto Floyd was never gonna happen IMO
Al haymon poached cotto so cotto would wait . That annoyed Oscar and Canelo who decided not to wait for cotto any longer.
Al haymon delivered Floyd the May 2nd date.
I truly believe it gets announced next weekend.

Why obsess over what Arum said when the HBO President said it too. Is the Prez lying too? Why ignore this?
Fat Dan reporting something an anonymous low life told him = proving the President of HBO is lying.
LMFAO! The denial and delusion is incredible. Fat Dan didn't prove shlt. All he did was report on a source from Floyd. If this source is telling the truth, then why anonymous? Why hide? I know. Because he is lying.
Why doesn't Showtime publicly say there isn't a deal? Showtime has remained silent, because the President of HBO was telling the truth.
