It's not like GGG is a big MW who starves himself to make a weight limit - a-la Hopkins. There was a talk recently, that he can even make 154 for a certain fight...

Hopkins was not starving himself..he walked around closer to 160 than anybody else around.

MW is dead.
It's historic significance doesn't magically make it a division stacked with talent.
Unifying it against shi.t fighters doesn't mean anything at all.

It's a pity cause I would like that fight. It would be exctinig as long as it goes. I think Golovkin would win but he wouldn't have an easy night with Cotto that's for sure.
On the other hand, MC could wheelbarrow up, trot out his jumbo man-nuts and say "**** all you feggity-ass feggits, I'm Miguel Cotto and I'll fight him just cause nobody else wants to!".
Neither scenario would surprise me.
Either way, WAR Cotto!

Cotto losing to GGG is not the end of the world. The dude began his career at 140. No shame and I am sure Cotto knows this too. So I don't think Cotto is worried about getting beat down, but rather...Paychecks.
And for the record, I will always give Cotto a shot at beating GGG based on the fact that, GGG has not exactly faced the greatest of all time.

Is Cotto a coward for ducking GGG? IMO no. Is he smart for avoiding GGG? IMO yea. Cotto knows that his chances of even making it to the 3rd round is slim & none and slim already left the building. If Cotto didn't want to fight any of the big dogs at MW he should of said that after beating Sergio instead of holding belt hostage. Cotto knows he can fight lesser opponents and even if he gets beat he could make money fighting other fighters afterwards. If he fights GGG he knows that he would take to much punishment and his career would be finished.
How can some people on here call themselves boxing fans when they are only fans of certain boxers. You cant call yourself a boxing fan and in the same breath make excuses for a MW champ NOT to fight who everybody in the world says is the top guy at MW.How can somebody say GGG should move up and fight Ward because other fighters have moved up but completely ignore that Ward already fought at LH and moved down the SMW and now refuses to move back to LH when he has no opponents at SMW to fight. He has cleaned out SMW and talked about moving up, but since Stevenson and Kov are in LH, him and his fans make a million excuses why he shouldn't move up.Pathetic!!!

How many times has Cotto moved up?
now ask yourself
How many times has GGG moved up.
You are calling the wrong guy a coward.
