Was Lucian Bute damaged goods when he fought Pascal?

............................
He didn't improve, Bute wasn't good enough. Froch was open for a counter when he was smothering Bute on the ropes, but it's just that Bute didn't have it to clinch, counter or move around to keep Froch off of him.
Again, do you have any proof about the "on something" part?Comment

That was not a confident fighter that got beat for 5 rounds. He was jittery and not prepared well enough. He did well the first two rounds to win them but it's his style that led to him getting fuxed up.
Bute finally opened up the last 2 rounds vs Pascal and started whooping his ass, but too little too late. This guy is still going with this.
He's changed it to 2 rounds now instead of "he was winning the first 4 rounds until the last 10 seconds of those rounds"
Get a clue.Comment

Froch was MUCH more aggressive and relentless in that fight than I've ever seen him - he was a real beast, after seeming so lethargic in his fight with Ward.
How could someone Froch's age at that time suddenly improve so much for that fight? I think the answer is obvious: he was on something.
But yes, Bute was ruined in that fight. You don't come back in your 230s after a beating like that.
Then we have this guy coming in with this crap.
Doesn't even realise he's saying Froch is that good he must have been on something to destroy Bute like he did.Comment

I'm sure he lost some confidence from the Froch fight which was not merely a loss but a playground beatdown, but no. Pascal's win was legitimate in its own right.
A fighter has to be VERY clearly past it before we dismiss the win as illegitimate, not simply coming off of a bad year.Comment

In October of 2012, the WBC ordered that the highest rated available boxers in the super middleweight division participate in a final elimination match. In December of 2012, during the WBC annual convention, the final elimination fight between Sakio Bika and Nikola Sjekloca was ratified, with the winner becoming the mandatory challenger for the world title.
... Then WBC approved the Ward versus Pavlik fight as a voluntary defense of Ward’s title, but poor Pavlik couldn't sober up...
... Then Ward undertook shoulder surgery and WBC stripped him... After recovering from surgery, Ward wanted Sartison as a comeback fight...
HBO didn't swallow it and ordered him to fight Edwin Rodriguez instead... Then -- that's about all...Comment

lol Ward has never ducked anyone, all the way up from his amateur career, he's been a warrior.
Bute wanted the fight in Canada or Europe, under his terms. The media was over hyping Bute like crazy, their great hope, they had him ranked #1 at SMW, claimed he was the best.
This despite Ward coming off the Super 6 tournament dominating all his opposition, even dominating Froch with a broken hand. Ward felt insulted, anyone in his position would, Bute didn't earn the right to call anything.
He told Bute fight an elite fighter and I'll fight you, Bute took the test, failed miserably.Comment

Wait: I just learned that Ward (who's now signed with Jay Z's Roc Nation) is planning a huge comeback... Guess where: in Oakland...The only problem is that he doesn't have an opponent yet.
