I am quite curious about the custom gloves that Mayweather refused. He ended forcing Maidana to wear the pillow gloves, but I wonder if Floyd had a point there.

Cuz Maidana didn't seem to one hurt Mayweather at all. According to Floyd, Chino was cheating all those times. Less padding is a serious accusation. If true Chine should be banned and stripped of all his winnings.

The gloves was in contract for the first fight I believe the issue came up for first floyd maidana fight over the custom pair maidana wanted to use the horsehair could easily be moved around knuckle area yes it doesn't have to be in contract but I'm pretty sure all championships fights the gloves are agreed upon especially since margocheat situation

No, that's not true. 1st Mayweather v maidana fight, commission didn't approve Maidanas custom gloves. Then Maidana had other gloves that were okd by the Commission. Floyd refused to fight Maidana if he wore these gloves, and that's where the issue arose.
Nothing was in the contract, and pursuant to the contract, Maidana could wear the gloves that were approved by the Commission. Ultimately, it seems that madaina was paid money to wear a different type of gloves immediately prior to the fight.

Again you posting my argument and not posting when he tried on custom pair the horsehair could be move to another area of gloves where as though you just be getting hit with the wraps basically key word is could that's why customs was not approved the second pair which wasn't custom was approved

it was a while ago but a posted on this forum said this and it makes sense

the maidana first gloves were approved by the commission but because mayweather made that big stink they rechecked it and un-approved it on the basis that it was custom colors and they didn't inform the commission beforehand. so there was nothing wrong with the gloves itself so that's why theres no tampering charge or inquiry whatever but technically not usable because they didn't inform commission first about the custom argentina colors.

I'm telling u that's how it's done. 12 rds is mandatory for championship fights too but that's in contract just like 8 Oz gloves.
Also, u have to realive there are standard commission contracts and then lengthy addendum created by promoters, approved by advisors or mgrs.
The Commission contract will say the oz of the gloves. The promoter contract can add what type of gloves, but most often it does not.

Floyd didn't care about the commission approved gloves he cried wear these pillow gloves or no fight at all that's cowardly. I hope Manny doesn't have to wear those pillow gloves I will lose a lot of interest in the fight....if it ever happens
