Golovkin's boxing skills are really underrated.

"Schooled" might be more descriptive. Even at that it would have been interesting as GGG is no 1-2 fighter along the lines of Pavlik or Tarver. Lets just say I would have picked B-Hop but would have measured any money bets carefully.

He looks slow as hell, too hunched over but everyone seems to scared to throw the uppercut. Loads up to much, he is completely open for the right hand.
No head movement, his defense consists of pulling back.

He doesn't seem effective unless you remain static or lay on the ropes.

Its fanboyism, the guy throws ONE counterpunch against Daniel Geale and all of a sudden its proof hes a great counterpuncher.

I am not sold on him as an elite fighter. I think he looks like a very flat, one dimensional Roman Gonzalez or young Cotto.

Nobody at MW is challenging him, most are remotely average 154lb fighters.

I do not see the skills and whatever just a very strong MW who applies intelligent pressure, has a good jab with serious power. He looks highly limited to me.

I'm pretty sure you had 2 of his last 3 opponents beating him. But keep on.

I agree, I don't see GGG getting destroyed, while he could get "schooled".

If there is something one can criticize about GGG is his lack of head movement and the way he loads his big shots.

The best chance to beat him imo is to have good lateral movement and pot shot the hell out of him every time he loads up.

Also the "shifting" technique mentioned earlier leads me to believe this could be the case. He steps forward with his left first and then with his right, basically switching stance as he comes forward.

It allows him to close distace much faster, but it also leaves him completely squared up and open.

Not saying he cannot adapt, but that's something he still has to prove.

I think Lara could be a good test in that regard, altough the Cuban looked very tentative against Canelo and that kind of mentality would favor GGG's aggression.

I see it being an inside fighter giving him the most problems, someone who smothers his punches. He has been cutting off the "hit and run" guys his whole career, there's footage of him fighting Dirrell on youtube.

Ward's not really a hit and run guy, but I do think his is the style which would trouble Golovkin. The added size will also factor in, but I don't see that fight happening for some time.

Agreed. The one flaw in Golovkins style is inside fighting. Its not taught in that soviet system because it doesnt pay in amateur scoring. A tricky guy like Ward could cause all sorts of problems by smothering, holding and working inside, frustrate his way to a win.
