  • It is frustrating watching James Toney....

He is by far the most skilled heavy weight around but because he refuses to get in real physical shape he gets a draw with a bum like Rahman.

I agree. So many of the experts like Lampley hate him because he makes a mockery of the sport. Think about it: the best heavyweight in the world is ridiculously fat and ridiculously old, yet he wins. The experts don't want to see that because then people start to suggest any fat guy with experience can be the best fighter in the world. It makes boxing look bad.

do everyone who calls james toney a fatass: that fatass went the distance with a hard hitter in great shape. him being overweight doesnt mean a damn thing.

do you think Roy Jones is smart? do you generally agree with his opinion on the sport?

He said the only heavyweight who has a chance against Toney is Rahman. Toney fought him in horrible shape (no excuse, I know), and still got a draw.

Doesnt mean a damn thing?? Did you when he was fighting at 215? There's a big difference. Toney fought the whole 12 rounds, yes he has stamina but he was so off balance because of his weight that he almost looked drunk. He LOOKED HORRIBLE. Had he been twenty pounds lighter he would've picked Rahman apart.

I feel the same way, it was a great show nontheless. Toney is a former middleweight champ, and had a draw with an in shape determined, rahman who is the WBC HEAVYWEIGHT champion. I felt the fight could have gone either way, so the draw was appropriate. Any former middleweight who is out of shape but still managed to use his skills effectively against a heavyweight champion and put on a good show, is a great figher.

First of all, he also mentioned that Byrd can beat him too. And second of all, its an opinion. Im sure there are other smart people that can disagree with him. And his explanation for why Wladimir and Vitali cant beat Toney was just biased and ******.

Rahman a bum? He is just really inconsistant. Last night he was ready determined and in great shape, rarely seen from the rock.. still think it was a great performance from both men only sad thing is like you said toney's performance would have been so much better if he was in better shape.

Speaking of Roy Jones...I was thinking last night while watching Rahman how bad Jones would have picked him apart at heavy weight. hell he would have picked both of them apart...maybe at the same time! : )
