Neither Bute or Abraham had that effect on Froch at all. Maybe you had that feeling because Froch was coming off losses both times he fought those guys.

Not to mention, Kessler was easily a couple of years removed from his prime both times he fought Froch.
I never felt like any point that Kessler was on the brink of finishing Froch. It was more like Ok Froch got buzzed by a solid shot, he'll have recovered soon.

I shat myself when Abraham caught him at the start of the 12th or every time Bute threw a left uppercut.

Nothing to do with coming off losses. I just think that Bute and Abraham are much purer punchers.

I don't think we can take Bute into consideration against Froch,he was tentative from an early stage after being hurt by rabbit punches and any left hands he landed seemed pulled and he was off balance due to being smacked around as opposed to a fighter like Benn who when hurt and all over the place can deliver brutal and Ko blows being off balance and disorientated, partly the reason I think he was one of the hardest hitters ever at smw

I disagree with Abraham. I thought Froch cruised all the way through.

I think I had some of the same vs Bute, but it was a myth. And because Froch was such an underdog and everyone thought he'd get knocked out, the suspense for that fight was immense.

Bute does have some nice one punch ko's against Miranda and Andrade mainly from the body... he just doesn't throw that kind of shots at someone when they unsettle him

I don't think they did at SMW which is what this discussion is about.

Well, you bring up Andrade and Bute - in what world is Andrade a better opponent than guys who were world champions that Kessler knocked spark out?

If you measure "quality opposition" by Froch, Calzaghe and Ward - arguably the three greatest SMWs ever - then I think you have your measuring stick a little too high up.

Kessler knocked out world champions. What more would you want from him?
ohh yes.. world champions! like brian magee who fought for and won the interim WBA title against the beast that is jaime barboza coming of a KO loss (magee).

or the legend who is manny siaca, knocking him out sure is an accomplishment, its not like byron mitchell could do such a thing to him in his prime (while pitching a shut out). its also not like siaca lost to just about every damn body he fought at championship level.

green was never world champion, sartison beat some bosic dude who never did nothing for a vacant belt.

make no mistake about it, beyer is the only fighter who was any good at all that kessler managed to knock out. the rest were put there for him to knock out. magee was coming off a KO loss when he magically fought for an interim title against somebody nobody ever heard of, setting up a fight with kessler. sartison, similar situation. they bring these guys out from nowhere, move them up the ranks and even hand them titles all for the purpose of getting kessler the belts without having to beat anyone who belongs at that level. not just kessler this happens for a lot of fighters, kessler is just the worst case in modern times. this guys team makes adrien broner look like carl froch or glen johnson the way they are setting up these easy fights all the damn time.

kessler is the product of shrewd matchmaking, his abilities as a fighter are vastly overrated.

In the 11th of the second fight, Kessler nailed Froch, and Frochs legs were very wobbly. Froch was moving backwards when he got hit, if he was coming in, and got hit with that punch, I think the fight would've been over.

I actually think there are SMWs who hit harder than Kessler, but Kessler is very accurate, he tends to hit his opponents very cleanly, through guards.
