I don't think anyone truly believes that.

Jmm requested the cw. Cotto got one cause he was Pacs first legit fight in his 7th division. First cw Pac requested, but I dont know anyone that can go 7 without asking for one. Cotto would have been huge favorite just 12 months earlier, Pac was at 130 18 months prior

He was fucked before both fights.

There was more footage of how bad he looked before the Cotto fight so it's hard to know if he was actually in worse shape or if it was just better advertised.

That HBO footage of him looking fat as fuck preparing for Cotto is just depressing now. Did he even do any roadwork?

So Murray fought a better Sergio on that wet canvas on that rainy day in Argentina? Nah, he couldn't close the show decisively on an opponent he could physically impose himself on. Cotto didn't make that mistake.
Cotto beat Martinez at a catch weight lol.

Those reports are wrong. Sergio had 4 weeks of road work for the Murray fight, he had zero for Cotto, hell he couldn't even jump rope in camp. I have never seen sergio make weight and be flabby and that's telling in itself. Does that take away from Cotto? No, Sergio didn't have to fight him but he wanted that check.

Gotta admit the Brits have balls. Nathan Cleverly, now this guy.

And this guys is pretty damned good. This is the best fighter GGG has ever faced. Martin Murray would beat everyone else at 160.

This is what martinez's training camp was for his fight

His words leading up to cotto
"I was on crutches for a long time. Until December, I was walking on crutches. I was struggling. I used crutches since my surgery on October 31 until December 18. During all that time I was unable to lean on my right leg at all.”
