Former WBA and WBC super middleweight champion Mikkel Kessler confirmed an earlier story by Per Ake Persson on BoxingScene.com, by releasing a statement that he's indeed going to retire from boxing. No need to let this drag on. Retiring on the back of a close loss to a great fighter in his homecountry, is not a bad way to go. A shame that Ward wouldn't give a rematch and that Froch wouldn't keep his promise of a decider.
