First of all, Brook was stabbed and is fighting in March so I don't see how that's possible at this very moment in time. All the chump has to do is remove the strap from Brook and he puts himself in a very good position. As is now, he's just another guy. No title, no resume, does not have significant drawing power in the United States.
I'd prefer Khan over Cotto if it came down to it, but that isn't saying much at all(The rematch with Cotto has financial incentives, but no interest in seeing a retread over a fight that wasn't even all that close in the first place).
Good luck telling these Khan fanboys that he should fight a world titlist that happens to live in the same damn country that he does. Again everyone already knows the deal. 1 more loss he's ****ing out of it. So he's gonna sit around praying the fight falls into his lap because he's the last viable name standing rather than getting in the ring against a tough opponent and taking it for himself.
Second, Mayweather complained that Khan isn't a name in the US. A win over Brook doesn't really increase his standing in America because Brook is virtually unknown. He isn't even that famous in the UK.
And lastly, why are people acting like suddenly belts matter to Mayweather. Why would winning a belt suddenly make him more attractive to Floyd? It wouldn't make a blind bit of difference. Mayweather himself put Khan in the running last year - so it's only prudent he waits to see how this plays out.Comment

Well if that mythical Pacquiao fight just happens and he wins he might just go for undisputed champion just because it's something he still hasn't done.First of all, Brook was stabbed and is fighting in March so I don't see how that's possible at this very moment in time.

In any case beating Brook would put Khan in a hell of a lot better position than he is now. What incentive does Mayweather have to fight Khan right now?
The financial particulars aren't noteworthy(Pacquiao, and retreads with Cotto and Canelo make more financial sense), and it's not like Khan's resume is anything to write home about. A win over Khan as he is today does absolutely nothing for Mayweather historically, outside of appeasing some random messageboard posters that believe he's scared of fighters with hand speed.
Win a title okay at least there's AN incentive to fight him. Not much, but more than he brings to the table right now which is absolutely nothing.Comment

If the title was an incentive then Brook would be in the running but I don't think anyone really believes Mayweather is ever going to fight Brook.Well if that mythical Pacquiao fight just happens and he wins he might just go for undisputed champion just because it's something he still hasn't done.

Mayweather himself gave the incentives of a Khan fight last year when he put him in the running alongside Maidana.

Well even more recently he said nobody knows who Amir Khan is only boxing fans after that great fanbase of his didn't show up for his first Vegas headliner. I'll run with what he said a month ago over what he said last year.
Also Brook is still a domestic fighter as far as the US is concerned so it would make sense for him to not mention Brook. Khan is above that, but still not somebody people are falling over themselves to see, so a strap in his hand is a lot more valuable than in Brook's hands who JUST started crossing the pond.Last edited by Biolink; 02-01-2015, 06:46 PM.Comment

"my name is always mentioned"...Yeh, because you always mention it in the same breath as Mayweather, ******...not heard Floyd open his mouth once and mention your name...it's every day 'I deserve to fight Floyd'/'I've earned a shot at Floyd'/'my speed will trouble Floyd'. Day after day after day after day. Khan is basically trolling Floyd the same way Briggs trolls Wlad.Comment

So Mayweather didn't put Khan in his poll last year?"my name is always mentioned"...Yeh, because you always mention it in the same breath as Mayweather, ******...not heard Floyd open his mouth once and mention your name...it's every day 'I deserve to fight Floyd'/'I've earned a shot at Floyd'/'my speed will trouble Floyd'.
