Comments Thread For: Team Rigondeaux Apply More Pressure on Santa Cruz

WBA/WBO super bantamweight champion Guillermo Rigondeaux and his team were very pleased with the statement made by Oscar De La Hoya to BoxingScene.com, saying that he wants to match the Cuban in a unification fight with his fighter Leo Santa Cruz who holds the WBC super bantamweight title.

Rigondeaux has been calling out Santa Cruz for years and is very pleased that Santa Cruz's promoter is also behind the unification fight.

Rigo wants the fight, as long as Caribe gets paid an exhorbitant amount of money.

Everyone knows that Rigo, even with his off-putting style, is going to want big money; the fact that numbers discussed are in the multimillions will make the talks even less fruitfull.

If LSC gets $1m-$3m for the fight, there's no way in heck that Caribe will accept Rigondeaux getting the $500k or so needed to make the numbers work.

Hey dumbazz, in case you didn't know, it was LSC who over priced himself at 3mil (which there's no way in hell he would get that) even Oscar said that it was too high. He's been ducking Rigo and everyone knows it. Fckn coward. Not a true Mexicano!

Don't fall for it Leo! De La Hoya is now vocal about it because he knows you are leaving him for Haymon.

NOBODY wants to see you against that boring runner. Do you really want to sign to get frustrated with his running and have the fans boo you both because of that disgusting rat?

We want the actions fights!! They favor not only the fans but your image. Fighters like Rigo stain the image of the person who is fighting them because he avoids confrontation like the ****** coward he is.

The only people that DON'T want this fight are Santa Cruz "nut huggers" & "Team Santa Cruz" cause they know Rigo is gonna take him to school & make him look like a total amateur..Lets see if Santa Cruz has the balls to accept the fight.Cause calling out a fighter is one thing, but accepting the fight & stepping into the ring is another..

How is rigo avoiding Santa Cruz? Cruz is pricing himself out, asking for 3 million, when he should be getting 1.5 at most.Rigo is the one that's been constantly calling him out day and night. It honestly just sounds like your afraid that rigo is going to school the one dimensional Santa Cruz, worse than he schooled donaire. I understand you might not like his style, but don't keep feeding him bums, under the excuse that "it would make exciting fights". Either he faces rigo at 122,and loses like a man,or he moves up to 126 and gets knocked out by lomanchenko,Walters and mares.

                Fixed that for you.

MEANING: You don't want the fight to happen, because LSC will get schooled and whipped......

what's with all these cowards in boxing? no wonder nobody takes boxing seriously anymore.

santa cruz doesn't want to fight the best, mayweather avoiding pacquiao, danny garcia avoiding herrera, quillin avoiding ggg, stevenson avoiding kovalev, mares avoiding jhonny gonzalez rematch, etc. etc.
