Everyone is allowed to move to onto better things. But it's the manner of how it has happened, and what happens to these en****** when he leaves, that leaves a bad taste.
When he left HBO (or rather, HBO cut ties upon realising he was giving all his best fights to Showtime and give them filler instead) they were in dire straights. Those were the Berto BAD years. HBO are still recovering. It wasn't all Haymon's fault but he played a big part in HBO's running for a while before he made his move.
He goes to Showtime - who let's be real, were doing stellar work before he took control there and often made HBO look foolish in comparison - the Super Six, Vasquez-Marquez trilogy etc - they were doing lots of tremendous fights. They were the channel of the hardcore fans.
After an initial run of great GBP/Haymon fights, it devolved into the farce that was boxing in 2014. He is now spreading out to other channels, meaning Showtime are getting ditched - but were a convenient place holder while he set up these deals, and he could get his fighters paid for a a year/18 months. So basically Showtime are now going to lose Mayweather and all the other Haymon fighters - so what do they have to show for their heavy outlay? Even a Mayweather-Pac fight will be split with HBO - and most of the profits will be fought over by Floyd/Pac/Arum/Haymon.
Where do Showtime go from here?
Same way as Oscar, I guess - to clean house and start afresh. And GBP were the other company to get screwed by Haymon. I mean, reading this article was kinda sad. GBP have basically have to become a new company again, except this time, Oscar doesn't have dates and pull with HBO that he once did.
HBO-GBP-SHO - Haymon passed through them all to get to where he is now. You can say he is a genius for it but all those companies have/will be left damaged by being affiliated with him.
