I love cotto but I agree

First of all cotto never fought at 160 he fought at 155 1 pound over Jr middle weight.
Then he beat Martinez which is a great win but Sergio himself wasn't a true middle weight
And I'm danm sure he not GANN fight GGG or Peter Quilllin
He ganna use that belt to fight ether Floyd or Conelo
He not fighting a true 160 pounder. .not because he a duck ether he using that belt for leverage Fights

Cotto/Martinez was at 159lbs.
Sergio was a true middleweight. He grew into the division and had been there for many years by the time they fought.

I agree that Cotto isn't a true MW. He should just drop the belt but like you said he's using it as leverage.

Adonis Stevenson is the lineal "true" light heavyweight champion. he beat dawson, who beat Hopkins, who beat pascal.

and Stevenson, just like cotto are nothing more than title holders.

Cotto never even talks about fighting a top 5 middleweight. Right after he wins the title he goes on vacation. Cotto was not injured so what gives him the right to do nothing for a full year? GGG who I think of as the true middleweight champion will have knocked out 4 world rated middleweight contenders before Cotto gets his lazy ass back in the ring to defend his "lineal"world middleweight title. Most likely Cotto will defend his title against a welterweight. If Cotto was the warrior and brave champion his fans claim he is his next fight would be with GGG as soon as possible.
