Well there are about 115M household TVs in America. So that would be the maximum amount of buys.

I do think it will hit 3M, but anything higher than that will largely depend on price. If it's $75 in HD, it has an outside shot at 4M. If it's $100+ in HD, it will settle at 3M.

If you're talking about above worldwide PPV buys, I'd imagine the UK would pitch in 1M more, Australia maybe 250K, and most, if not all, other countries will air it for free, as it should be shown, FOR FREE.

of course not. alvarez and mayweather, if the numebrs weren't forged, did 2.2 million buys.

alvarez was a relative unknown. i do think that manny - mayweather has lost some steam, and that it would do more before manny was knocked out by marquez.

still, this fight is going to absolutely crush 3 million ppvs. it will crush it. expect more than four.

I think the fight is going to go over 3 million. Hopefully, it's announced during the Super Bowl which would have an audience of at least 13-14 million viewers. I expect it to catch fire so to speak. Everyone will be talking about it and it's going to happen on the perfect day. Cinco de mayo weekend + one of the most anticipated fights in a long time will result in big dollars. These guys are making a ****load of money so they need to shatter every record.

I think they do under 3 mil. Look at their current PPV numbers.

People that have never watched a fight in their entire lives want this bout. This does 3 AT LEAST. I would actually be disappointed if it did less than 3. That's how high the expectations are.

I am not sure if the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight will do 2.4, it might only do 1.8 million buys because rumor has it the ppv is going to cost 99 dollars.

Nobody is going to pay that, especially casual fans, maybe a diehard boxing fan will.
I will pay for Mayweather vs Pacquiao. $100 bucks if that's the cost. Many other people will as well, in the form of fight parties. To decrease the cost of a $100 dollar ppv all it takes if for 10 people to chip in $10 each. Or 5 people to chip in $20. Beer and food not included. Still if 10 people bring $20-25 for ppv, food, and drinks that's enough.

Thats another issue, the more people chip in for the ppv and watch it at one place or at a bar, it will reduce the number of heads buying the ppv.

They should just make it a reasonable 60 bucks or so.

The price will scare a lot of people off. I heard Floyd is the one who sets the price point for his ppv and tickets sales. He said something like if they fight Pacquiao *** a stadium that seats 100 thousand fans, ill just fight at 14k MGM grand and increase the ticket prices to over 20k a ticket or something.

I think Floyd is the only one who will get a piece of the gate, Pac won't that was one of the factors and it always been that way with Floyds fights, its weird he got a piece of the live gate for the hatton fight while Hatton got nothing and 90 percent of the people in the audience were brits who traveled their for hatton.

I also agree, that if this fight is priced normally around say
69.99 - 79.99 it more than likely will do 3 million + PPV buys.

But $100.00 is pushing it, probably wouldn't do 3 mil, maybe 2.8 or such.

Would I pay $100 for this PPV? Yes.
                      Would casuals? heck no.

Plus when you take into account that MOST boxing events are no longer shown in blast events areas, non of the Hooters bars in my area show Boxing events, only UFC, but Im pretty sure they will for this fight.

So you have people at blast events + multiple people in one home going in together on the price.

Higher prices can only hurt the PPV numbers.
