He is a good fighter, has a great amateur pedigree but his resume in the pros is wholly average

He is nothing more than a contender with a title trinket....until he beats Cotto or Andre Ward at 168 he hasn't earned the distinction....just facts..... he is just another contender with a trinket like Abraham, Dirrell, Geale, Jermain Taylor etc.
Speak for yourself. GGG fangirls will quote this and run with "Floyd fans said he has to beat Cotto to be considered good". This is not how I feel, AT ALL. Beating Cotto does nothing IMO, it gives him The Ring title, but he won't be winning it from a legit MW.

Andre Ward, Sergio Mora, Erislandy Lara, Demetrious Andrade, Mikkel Kessler, Carl Froch, have all expressed interest in fighting him. Just cause average fighters at 160 and smaller fighters don't fight him doesn't mean he's being ducked. Are the best fighters ducking him? The best fighters are calling him out. I am not interested in the fighters at 160.
Lara aint ducking no one....nor is Andrade who wants to make a name for himself

160 is the worst weight class between 140-175

they put out a warning to all the fighters between 154-175 now its time to fight some elite guys in those weight classes...move up if the guys at 160 are ducking

opinons are like arse holes...everyone has one....the facts are Cotto is the champion, until he vacates or loses, that's just the way it is

He is not a good MW champ. He weighed 155lbs to win his title, vs a semi-injured 39 year old fighter. Not a very good measuring stick to show how good GGG really is.

Imagine measuring 2003-2005 Winky Wright's 154 success based on beating the Mayweather that came off of beating Canelo for The Ring 154 title. Floyd weighing in at 150lbs. Would you say Winky proves to be the best 154 champ?

Or would one of the top 10 guys at 154 in 2010 beating Pacquiao for his WBC 154 title he won from beating Margarito, would that prove that fighter is a good JMW?

he would have proofed he was the champion, whether we like or not titles are won in the ring

Henry Armstrong weighed less than 140 when he won the welterweight title...does that mean he wasn't the champion?
or that fritzie Zivic wasnt the champion because he beat the smaller Armstong?

How about **** Tiger being well under the limit at 175 when he beat Jose Torres for the title

Its not about weight but about skills

As far as Pacquaio at winning a belt @ 154 he fought an unranked guy in a weight class he wasn't ranked in at a catchweight at 150

....Pacquaio was never lineal or let alone ranked at the weight...that's a whole different situation entirely, this fight meant absolutely nothing....Mayweather beat the two top guys to unify at 154

....Martinez was the champion until he vacated or lost, like he did to Cotto

oh I get im ignorant because I call a spade a spade AND because I support my opinion with facts....you must be a fan boy of Gennady's

Yall call fighters cowards who've actually beat champions....real champions, let alone titlists but GGG knockouts a few contenders and he is the man to beat....the boogeyman....spare me

every big puncher gets hyped up until they regularly face elite competition and then the ko ratio drops dramatically.....happened to Julian Jackson, Tyson, and all the rest...same goes for GGG
