So he's a "champion" according to Finkel that's disappointing. Wlad gonna be 39 when he fights Jennings in April. Wilder is my boy but he's at the big people's table now that he's got that belt and a target on him. His people should want him to go for a mega fight he can make easy and catch the only active HOF-lock heavyweight in the top ten. Look at Jennings. He's been calling out Wlad since 2012 and he's been boxing a shorter time than Wilder and with a full time job that he only recently got out of. Come on, brother.
If Finkel or Haymon wanted to get him the fight I believe he'd take it. He's not scared of Wlad. But they want to go and literally call him a prospect holding that belt? That's not how you talk about the WBC champion of the world. He's not even calling him a contender but a prospect. Damn. Embarrassing representation. Wlad could decide to pack it in any time and Finkel's so sure he'll be around whenever. He's said before he wanted out at forty. Forty is like 15 months away. Don't sit on your thumbs and let the division's biggest opportunity go. You could be the only heavyweight with a REAL punchers chance, Deontay. Run towards the fire!

Let me clarify - I have no issue with Wilder taking a fight or two aganst TOP TEN guy like Povetkin, Pulev...
But I took this to mean that "yeah, we're most likely not gonna ruin Wilder by EVER fighting Wlad... Or maye when he's 40 plus and on his last leg..."
As long as Wilder fights LEGIT TOP TEN GUYS for the next year, cool. .. But better not be no damn Owen What the Heck Beck part deux, or Jason Gavern remixes.

Look at Sonny Bill Williams. Guy had NO AMMY experience. and in his 6th pro fight, he's fighting Botha - Wilder wasn' fighting guys on his level till his 25th fight or so.

I have no problem with Wilder not trying to get Wlad BUT anyone else in the division should be opponents that he could see himself fight.
They want to avoid the top fighters and even said a fight against Povetkin is too dangerous. C'mon now, this is embarrassing. Now, I'd like to see Povetkin call him out.

Finkel, who manages Wilder with Al Haymon and Jay Deas, also works closely with Klitschko.
... But bring him now -- before he gets a pair of decent legs underneath.
