if he can actually pull it off, the man is a genius and deserves to take over boxing.
The HBO and SHO shows are fine, but its HBO and SHO.

The shows on ESPN and NBC Sports the past few years, not a lot a viewers and promotion. Al is gonna be promoting the hell out of this.

hbo and showtime boxing are part of a package, they dont have to rely on viewers watching every single broadcast. shows like "friday night fights" and those that haymon is launching, rely heavily on ratings to produce revenue, they cant afford to broadcast duds because their air time loses value and thus loses revenue.
outside of maybe 50k (im being generous here) hardcore boxing fans that will follow all of these shows, how is haymon going to attract 3 times the views to cover 3 times the air time needed to stay afloat? if he was that good of a salesman, he would have made his empire in music and not needed to jump over to boxing.
i really think he needs all the shows he is launching, to cover all of the salaries his boxers expect to be getting yearly. if even one of them crashes and burns, there will be a domino effect as dissatisfied fighters start to leave, which lowers the quality of available talent, which weakens the drawing power and revenue making ability, which leads to less money and more fighters leaving, and so on and so forth.
for this plan to work in the ufc model, haymon needs the recognized best fighters in every division, and the best opposition for these fighters, to fight under his banner. he doesnt have that in even 1 division.
i hope you dont confuse me being a realist with being a pessimist.

I think it's cool. Finally the general public will at least know that boxing is still a thing.

I hope Haymon works hard on promoting his big shows. It would be sad if those big NBC dates get bad ratings.

As long as he gives us quality boxing matchups the way he is in March and April, I don't care if he puts fights on the Cartoon Network. Ask yourself the question, when was the last time GBP or Top Rank gave us two quality fights between highly ranked opponents in a year, let alone two months?

If he puts a quality fight like the ones he has scheduled for March and April on there, you and people who have never heard of BET will watch it.
