This is definitely true, no doubt. I would love to be proven wrong, and as I've said if floyd fights pacquiao it is his doing alone. If that's the case poor Cotto, lost the canelo fight, lost the mayweather fight, and GGG is his mandatory next.

Cotto will be fine. He realizes these are his last few opportunities to make cash so he's going to make smart decisions with an eye toward getting out of the sport and promoting. The smartest thing he did was become a free agent. Now when he's slated to earn $8m, he might actually see it all.

Arum says Showtime and HBO have agreed.

Head of Showtime boxing say they are still negotiating.

All the Pac fans believe Arum. Now i know why they are nicknamed tards.

Let's just say hypothetically IF Cotto doesn't get the mayweather fight, what other money options are out there? He has really one fight to make a lot of money before he has to drop the belt. Well he could face GGG, but i think that is a career ending fight. He could always drop, and fight Canelo with the lineal title in sept... Hmmm...

Like I said, at this stage, every fight is a money fight for Cotto.

Yeah i agree. I'm just not sure if a money opponent is out there, well before he has to either face GGG or drop the belt. Regular HBO purses are maxed out at 2.5 mill, so i mean i guess that is a decent payday(well comparably).

Again, he gets paid regardless of who he faces.

The last time was juanma v gamboa. He is doing it now with loma. There have been many more as you are aware.

So why do you think he does this?

Manny and Mayweather can't sign squat until their affiliate networks have agreed because they are apart of the business structure. So Pacquiao and Arum telling Mayweather to sign the contract is bull$#!t unless they want to get sued.
Ever heard of deal memorandums and other paper trail like email & fax confirmations?? You honestly don't think parties just talk on the phone and in meetings, then draft the 25+ page long form agreement for everyone to review and sign? Deal points need to be officially signed off beforehand.

I'm no fan of Arum, but he & Pac went on record saying the agreed to all the terms. Then Arum dropped the names of Moonves & Plepler to back him up. That's very specific and on the record. Espinoza never disputed this claim and neither did anyone else. If Arum was lying, Espinoza would have disputed that directly and would have Moonves & Plepler bury Arum. Never happened! All Espinoza specified was the ongoing SHO-HBO TV negotiations and that Arum was "misrepresenting" Floyd by ridiculing him. He basically just protected Floyd from looking like a coward.

I agree with the Floyd "sign the contract" remarks. That's misleading, but it does put more public pressure on Floyd. As far as Arum & Pac's concerned Floyd maybe hasn't signed any deal points on paper. Only Moonves & SHO know whether he actually agreed to anything. He must have or HBO & SHO would've never wasted their time to meet and negotiate. If Floyd really wants the fight on May 2nd, he has to go on record publicly!! Because if this fight doesn't happen in May, we know who is at fault. Just do the math. Everyone has to prepare for Plan B now.

Nah he disputed it. Said he couldn't speak for HBO but for everyone on Showtime. Also said there is no agreement.
