I agree with your overall premise that both networks have problems, but Canelo gave us better matchups on showtime. Remember he demanded trout and lara, or he would have been fighting the lopez's of the world forever.

The LA Times quote from Espinoza: "Floyd has represented to [CBS/Showtime Chairman] Leslie Moonves, to [his manager] Al Haymon and to me personally that he wants to make the fight".

WTF does "represented" mean exactly??? LOL Does it mean that one of Floyd's cronies at TMT told CBS, Haymon and Espinoza that Floyd's wants the fight?? He can't say that to Haymon himself?? Choosing the word "represented" instead of "said" or "expressed" is very strange because it's not specific. It's a total legal loophole for Espinoza to use. Regardless, I so believe that Floyd wants the fight...eventually. Maybe just not in 2015.

The fight is indeed done. But only Floyd and Espinoza know that. At some point, it became clear to Floyd this time is different. He cannot get away with evading Pacquiao and still have any semblance of public support.

Floyd is being dogged everywhere he goes, 10X more than ever. People are chanting Pacs name at basketball games at him. Last time he had half the American public who cared, on his side. This time, basically none. There are no supporters this time. None.

But, since Pacquiao has already made it known that he signed the contract and is waiting on Floyd. I think only a madman would claim Pacquiao made this all up. We all know Floyd. If he is taking this fight, and he is, the only thing his ego will allow him to say is, " There is no contract, we still working on the fight."

HONESTLY So far Canelo best fights and tougher competiton all came from Showtime. He fighting a guy who aint been in the ring in a year at catchweight. HBO gone lose more money on Canelo.

i dont know how much those guys get paid but it wouldnt be completely outrageous if lemiux rosado rios alvarado kirkland canelo purses put together would be comparable to mayweather cotto purses. it could be plausible that hbo puts up these cheaper fights but make 1percent profit and mayweathercotto tanks and lose money.

I was just looking up Cotto's purse against Martinez and he got 7 million. Mayweather-Cotto II is almost impossible to make from the financial side, CBS will get crushed with all the backlash and running against a non-ppv Canelo fight.

This is the one point that still gives me hope that the big fight will happen instead, either that or Mayweather has an incredible guaranteed deal with Showtime where the CBS people have no say.

Bob Arum and Mayweather have way too much fucking history it's not even funny. I'm not going to pretend I know what's going on in these behind closed doors negotiations, but why is Bob Arum publicly calling out ONE man (when there's possibly hundreds of people invloved) as the sole reason for the fight not happening when that one person is not speaking publicly on behind closed doors negotiations? It's just not something you do, and just serves to put road blocks in the way of this fight ever happening. Like he's been doing for years now.

for the sake of argument, lets say arum doesnt want this fight and floyd does. how the hell does a 100yo, half dead mummy, outmaneuver tbe and his army of harvard grads into getting exactly what he wants instead of what floyd wants, and he does it while making it appear that its all mayweathers fault. everyone just needs to bow down to the bobfather, his word is law.

The only say showtime has are the pre agreed upon names in the contract, so yes if this fight doesn't come off. Floyd is going to royally **** them.

Edit: Let me add one more thing, not saying Arum isn't full of it idk wtf is going on anymore. But Showtime has to protect Floyd, because if this comes off as a huge duck, the boycott will be massive. They owe him 32 mill if it has one buy or a million.
