  • Comments Thread For: Bob Arum: There is One Guy To Blame - Floyd Mayweather!

Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum is firing back at a recent interview conducted by WBC/WBA welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr., who claimed the veteran promoter was the biggest obstacle in making a mega-fight with WBO champion Manny Pacquiao. The fight is being negotiated for May 2nd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Arum says his company, and Pacquiao, have agreed to every term requested by Mayweather - and he adds that CBS president Leslie Moonves and HBO chairman and CEO Richard Plepler are also on board.

Nonsense - Arum is Floyd's favorite scapegoat.

If Bob is blocking the fight then Floyd or his team need to come out and give details. If the fight doesn't happen Floyd will take the blame and will be a stain on his legacy. He said he is the A side, he makes the offers. If he takes credit for fights happening he has to take the blame when they don't happen. Pacquaio isn't running around saying his TBE and better than Ali so this fight not happening affects Floyd's legacy more than Pac's.
Not saying Arum is innocent but it seems Moonves and Showtime don't think he is negotiating in bad faith or they would have said so by now. It seems the only one that thinks Bob is a problem is Floyd and it seems for personal than getting business done. Let's hear some details on what exactly Bob is doing or lying about or its on Floyd at this point. What haven't they agreed to? What does Floyd still want to make him agree to terms so a contract can be written up?

In what ways Is Arum to blame? What has he done since negotiations begun to sabotage this fight?

Everyone else seems to be holding to an agreement that the fight negotiations should be conducted privately, except Arum. Is this his way of sabotaging the negotiations?

If what Arum says is actually the truth then Mayweather has let everyone, and most of all himself, down here and boxing fans should boycott whatever fight he takes instead of Pacquiao!
