The way fighters become real stars like Manny and mayweather is to take on the best and beat them consistently. This is why haymon has been doing his fighters a big disservice by giving them mismatches. It took both Manny and Floyd years of beating top opponents to become the big ppv stars they are today. Who does haymon have that is on that path to superstardom? The answer is nobody because he gives them 1 tough fight to every 4 easy ones and they will never become ppv stars. Mikey Garcia and Terance Crawford have been fighting the best opponents available and have been winning, and the fans have responded by tuning in big time which is why once Manny retires they will take over as ppv stars so long as they keep fighting top opposition. Keith Thurman could be near ppv status if haymon would have let him fight tough fights, but he's just barely now headlining a card for the first time. Crawford went from an unknown to on the verge of being a huge star in a matter of a year by beating 3 tough fighters who were considered the top of their divisions. That's how its supposed to be done, that's why top rank always builds all the stars. They've built de la Hoya, mayweather, cotto, pacquiao, Marquez, Chavez Jr, basically all of the top ppv fighters of our generation. Say what you want about bob arum but he knows how to make stars

I don't solely blame Haymon, I do think at some point an athlete has to decide legacy or money. Yes both can be achieve in some cases but not for all, the difference is a fighter with a legacy can pretty much earn longgggg into retirement while many of these guys will be forgettable because they haven't decided to raise the bar for themselves. Quillin is a prime example, the guy had a pretty good following on here. Even his fans now can't find defense for how his career has gone. Another one is danny garcia who has had a whopping total of 5 reputable names on his 30 fight resume..5!! With 60% of his wins coming against journeymen. I respect Broner more than those two and he's a haymon guy because despite what fight was being offered to him he said he wanted Maidana even if it was a risky fight for him and fought and complained til he got it even if he took an L for it but he too has gone back the route of safety.

He would be timing Manny coming in and unload one of those straight right hands? Why couldn't that be a result? I agree it would be hard for anyone to beat Manny on decision since he is so active but we are not talking about just anyone here, you do realize that?

Again, Floyd has a stake in the HBO/SHO dealings, and until that is complete, there is no reason for Floyd to sign anything.

I still think he was under contract in the beginning, but either way golden boy has promoted every single fight since he left top rank and that's a fact. I could be wrong about him being under contract I've been wrong plenty of times in the past, but bottom line does it really matter? The fact still remains golden boy has promoted or co promoted like you say every fight. Manny has his fights co promoted by top rank too, he has MP promotions but call it what you want top rank promotes his fights just like golden boy promoted mayweather

that's not an excuse it's well documented even Dan Rafael stated that showtime wanted to use same contract for broadcast that was agreed upon for Tyson vs Lewis with winners network being only one to have replay rights the following week and other network out in dust and hbo didn't want to I'm pretty sure even pac fans will agree that hbo is not showing enough confidence in pac winning as showtime is showing for Floyd
