That's just south beach and downtown areas. You put Gamboa at one of the casinos it will fill up.

It's no cliche. Fans don't show up.
If they did the promoters would be staging fights there all the time.

There is a reason they don't.

They test the market all the time but bring bull**** fights to the area in terrible locations. GBP did a series at the BB&T Center in Sunrise, Florida (Which is way out west, off the coast and a good 45 minutes from Miami) and had guys like Steve Forbes and Antonio Tarver headlining. Then after those cards obviously failed they say that there is no market here.

Should be a good fight. Miami would be a perfect place to hold it.

I hope Showtime or HBO buy this fight, well I hope Showtime buys this since they don't have anything lined up right now, and I feel like I'm paying for nothing right now since the reason I have Showtime. It is because of the boxing.

It's a pretty good boxing city where people will show up for sure. You have the fight in Florida and you run the risk of many people not showing up. I still remember how Andre Berto couldn't fit 900 in his hometown in Florida.
You're right Gamboa fought about two or three times in Cancun and won while Linares fought one time and lost to Yeyo Thomson.

This are two of my favorite fighters I hate to see them squared of but I have to admit it is an intriguing fight.

Linares made 2 fight in paradise Cancun. It was not only against Sergio Thompson (March 2012) but also one year later against David Rodela (March 2013). I really understand why people want fights there because is such a beautiful place.
